Massachusetts Humane Society Inc. - Animal Organization

Massachusetts Humane Society Inc. - Animal Organization Massachusetts Humane Society Animal Organization is a non-profit, 501 c3, no kill, volunteer team si HISTORY AND MISSION OF MASSACHUSETTS HUMANE SOCIETY INC.

Massachusetts Humane Society was started on June 7, 2004 as a 501 (c) 3, non-profit charity, tax-deductible, no-kill, Volunteer team. We had a foster home care base for cats and dogs for two years and a handful of caring and supporting Volunteers that wanted to help reach out to homeless, neglected and mistreated animals. Massachusetts Humane Society's biggest mission and goal became a REALITY on

September 30, 2006 we opened up our own facility for homeless animals and adoptions. Massachusetts Humane Society Inc., is now 17 years old and is constantly and diligently helping and caring for animals in need. Massachusetts Humane Society does not receive any direct Town, City, State or Federal funding. MHS depends solely on monetary donations from individual supporters/bequest, charitable foundations, fundraiser events and the dedicated Volunteers. Our mission at Massachusetts Humane Society is to help shelter animals by providing exceptional care and proper placement of adoptable companion animals. To provide a sanctuary and cage less environment for our lifelong care animals/residents that are unadoptable. Our volunteer team is dedicated, committed and tirelessly engaged in ensuring every animal entrusted to us is nurtured, provided food, medications if needed, and opportunities for exercise and play in a warm and safe environment. We have low-cost Spay/Neuter Assistance to broaden clinic participation and develop educational information on these important issues. We promote and educate the humane way to handle the Feral Cat population by the means of (TNR) Trap-Neuter-Return, about the importance of animal welfare, and the co-existing with wildlife because of the depletion of their habitat and environment in Massachusetts and other states. Massachusetts Humane Society is looking for donations to achieve many more missions and goals that will BRING PEOPLE AND PETS TOGETHER! We are a short term and long term haven for all the animals that come to our Shelter/Sanctuary. *We Keep Until We Find* - however, some animals are unadoptable and they become a * Life Long Resident* of Massachusetts Humane Society . If you would like to join our great team of MHS Volunteers in helping and caring for the animals, please call us at 1-781-335-1300 or email us: [email protected]

Please consider donating - No Amount Is To Small - We greatly appreciate your SUPPORT!

This is Cookie, a 3 year old spayed female black Labrador. She is now looking for FOREVER HOME to enjoy her life in her permanent home with lots of love and fun too .. Cookie is a lab with energy and she loves to play fetch with the ball in the yard and go for walks - she loves to be outside and play and have fun. She does well with other dogs. She is house trained, gets a little excited when she knows she is going outside, may have little to none accidents but nothing that cannot be worked on she is very workable.

Cookie needs a ACTIVE HOUSEHOLD that can take her just about everywhere possible SECURELY, even to work if you are allowed too and again Securely.

You will get any recent history paper work of Cookie's and she is micro chipped that will have to be CHANGED for sure. Due to a family situation Cookie needs to go and find a good loving active PERMANENT home with a NEW BEGINNING AND TO CALL HER OWN.. !! Cookie is located in the South Shore area.

If your interested in Cookie please email us directly at:
[email protected] and put in the subject line : COOKIE

FUNDRAISING TIME !!!

SHAW'S FUNDRAISING - Buy a reusable bag at Shaw's in
Braintree MA, for the entire month of A JANUARY, 2026 to help the animals and earth!
Massachusetts Humane Society has been selected for Shaw's GIVE BACK WHERE IT COUNTS Reusable Bag Program.

For the entire month of JANUARY, 2026 our Organization will receive a $1.00 donation for every $3.00 GIVE BACK WHERE IT COUNTS BAG that is purchased at the Shaw's in Braintree, located at 125 Pearl Street near Michael's, Marshall's and the post office.

The donations will directly support our mission to Massachusetts Humane Society in helping stray/mistreated animals on the streets, that need to be rescued off the streets and given medical care and a new beginning !!

Plastic is a big problem on our earth and needs to be addressed and taken serious. Buying a reusable bag will help eliminate single-use plastic bags, which are destroying our oceans and causing great danger to marine life.

Tip: Keep your reusable bags in your vehicle so that you have them when you need them.

Be sure to visit Shaw's in Braintree, 125 Pearl Street during the whole month of JANUARY, 2026 and buy a reusable bag to benefit Massachusetts Humane Society Animal Organization !

THE ANIMALS THANK YOU! AND THE EARTH THANKS YOU!

A circus in Germany has found a way to keep the magic without keeping animals in cages.

Circus-Theater Roncalli stopped using live animals and brought in life-sized holograms instead.

So when kids look into the ring now, they can still see elephants, horses, and other animals appear, move, and “run” across the tent. But no animal has to travel for it. No animal has to perform.

It’s a weirdly emotional switch.

Because the circus vibe is still there. The lights. The music. The crowd holding their breath.

Just not the stress, the pacing, the cramped transport, or the fear behind the scenes.

The holograms are built using 3D animation and projection tech, with projectors placed around the ring so the images can be seen from all sides.

And the reason is simple: Roncalli has said it no longer feels right to put real animals in the ring.

It’s not perfect, and it doesn’t fix everything in the world.

But it’s one of those changes that makes you think, maybe we can keep what we love, and still choose compassion.

Wanted to address this: We are not using Petfinder any longer. Petfinder for some reason changed there web site program to make it faster and efficient, well its anything but that. ( the older version web site is the same as this new version ?? who knows)

On our Massachusetts Humane Society web site we have a page that says "adopted happy paws" animals that were adopted out and that link was connected to the petfinder site with the link "available to adopt" as well. However Petfinder has LOST ALL OF OUR OLDER PICTURES OF ANIMALS that we had on that page and adopted through out the years and looks like they lost them and cannot be recovered.!! ugh .....

( we are NOT the only animal shelter/Orgranization that has had terrible experiences with this new system and petfinder) That being said we do not want to take any more chances posting animals and other info on petfinder. That being said we will seek out other resources and as I say if its not broken don't fix it.
Thank You for your attention to this, and moving forward.

Before you shop this Black Friday, know this: eBay is enabling the trafficking of illegal animal-fighting weapons.

Cockfighting knives and gaffs—designed only to maim and kill in the fighting pit—are being fraudulently sold as “collectibles.”

Etsy removed them. eBay hasn’t.

A billion-dollar company can stop this today. It just won’t.

Choose companies that don’t enable cruelty.
