Northern Lakes Rescue Northern Lakes Rescue is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Foster based Organization that focuses on saving dogs in need.

Northern Lakes Rescue is a foster based rescue that will save dogs everywhere as long as we have a foster that will provide a loving home until their forever home is found. Prior to adoption all animals will be spayed/neutered and up to date on age appropriate vaccines.

Queen of Brindle Beauty. Ruler of Couch Kingdoms. Protector of Snacks. Supreme Commander of Snuggles.

For over a year, Her Majesty has patiently waited for her royal subjects to find her.

Meanwhile, puppies have come and gone. Dogs have arrived and been adopted. And Queen Hera has remained on her throne wondering:

"Do my people know I'm still available?"

At just 2 years old, this brindle goddess has everything you'd want in a companion:

Everyone is temporarily blinded by her beauty and forgets to submit the application.

🐾 FIVE DOLLAR FRIDAY 🐾

We have some exciting arrivals coming soon, and we're asking you to help us get ready.

This Sunday, we're welcoming a local owner-surrender litter of six puppies. They arrive with loving foster homes waiting for them, but they come with zero vetting. Before they can begin their journey to adoption, we'll need to provide:

✔️ Microchips
✔️ Vaccinations
✔️ Parvo testing
✔️ Preventatives
✔️ Food
✔️ Collars & leashes
✔️ Crates
✔️ Treats, toys, and blankets

Then on June 7th, our transport van will make its maiden voyage as we welcome 9 dogs from our Oklahoma rescue partner. These pups also have foster homes waiting, but they'll still need microchips, 4DX testing, preventatives, supplies, and transportation support.

That's 15 dogs counting on us over the next week.

The good news? Every single one already has a foster home waiting.

The challenge? We still need to cover the costs of getting them healthy, comfortable, and ready for their next chapter.

Hey guys. Izzy here. 🐾

Guess what?! My new set of wheels came in and my foster mom got everything set up so I could test them out tonight!

And let me tell you… I am FEELIN’ GOOD. 😎

I wheel-y appreciate everyone who donated to help me get my new chair. Because of you, getting around is already easier on my body.

My foster mom says this chair is extra special because:
• my hips now sit directly over the back wheels, which helps counterbalance me better and puts less stress on my shoulders
• it’s more sturdy to help support my spine
• my hip harness was custom-tailored to my measurements, so I’m getting way less friction and rubbing

Basically… I got the Cadillac of zoomie machines. 🚗💨

Because of your donations, my quality of life is already so much better. I can move around with more comfort, support, and confidence.

Pretty soon I might accidentally zoom-hop all the way across the yard to Brainerd International Raceway. Just kidding… probably. 👀

🥓 MAPLE BACON IS TAKING APPLICATIONS FOR A PERSONAL ASSISTANT. 🥓
Requirements include:
• opening the car door within 0.4 seconds of hearing “wanna go bye-bye?”
• accepting that personal space no longer exists
• surviving surprise zoomies from a 72 lb wrecking ball

Maple Bacon is a 2-year-old Saint Bernard / Pit Bull mix with giant paws, a giant head, and approximately 14 gallons of unconditional love.

She’s crate trained, housetrained, good with dogs, good with kids, and emotionally attaches to strangers faster than most people text back.

🚗 Favorite activities:
• car rides
• cuddling
• aggressively wagging her entire body
• suspiciously monitoring the resident cat
(The cat would like everyone to know: “this relationship is extremely one-sided.”)

Maple knows “sit” and “shake,” loves adventures, and occasionally gets the “big dog zoomies,” where she forgets she weighs 72 pounds and launches through the yard like a rotisserie chicken fired out of a t-shirt cannon.

Honestly, she’s the total package:

✔️ loyal
✔️ slightly chaotic

Meet Ranger: professional toy enthusiast, part-time door handle engineer, full-time Aussie Boss. 🤠🐾

This guy is SMART smart. Like… “you thought child locks were just for toddlers?” smart. Ranger has enough energy to power a small town and enough opinions to narrate your entire day (Aussie owners… you know 😂).

🎾 Favorite hobbies:
• Fetch
• More fetch
• Supervising your every move
• Reminding you dinner is late by aggressively staring at his bowl
• Plotting how to open doors

Ranger is the kind of dog who wants a JOB. Agility? Herding? Hiking buddy? Competitive squirrel patrol? He’s in. His dream person understands working breeds and knows that Aussies and Heelers aren’t couch potatoes… they’re tiny furry CEOs with trust issues and unlimited PTO.

✨🛍️ Garage Sale Queen Alert 🛍️✨

We would like to introduce you to a special gal named Penny. 💕

Penny is estimated to be around 3.5 years old and was apparently out in Mille Lacs County doing a little solo garage sale hopping. We’re not sure what treasures she was hunting for, but judging by her sweet personality, she was probably looking for snacks, belly rubs, and a forever family.

Penny does have tattoos in her ears, but at this time we do not believe she has any ties to Ridglan Farms. Since we don’t know much about her background yet, we want to be careful not to make assumptions about her story.

What we DO know? She is an absolute sweetheart. 🥹

Her foster says she’s basically a little snuggle bug who never stops moving long enough for a proper photo shoot — unless she’s curled up cozy on the couch pretending she pays the mortgage. She would likely make an incredible companion for a quieter home or older couple looking for a loving little shadow to spoil.

Once she’s ready, Penny will be available for adoption — so keep an eye on our website and social media for updates when applications open. We have a feeling this bargain-bin beauty is going to make someone very lucky. 🐾💛

Local surrenders needing your help! 🐾

We are currently looking for foster or foster-to-adopt families to help local community members facing the incredibly difficult decision to rehome their dogs.

As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a shelter facility. Every dog we take in needs a foster home waiting for them first. A foster home is truly their ticket to rescue. ❤️

By fostering, you are creating space, safety, and a second chance for a dog in need while we work to find them the perfect forever home.

Leonardo here reporting live from the baseball fields. 🐾

My human foster brother had a game today and let me tell you… he’s a totally radical baseball player. They lost though. Major bummer, dude. 😩⚾️

The good news? I got to tag along and cheer him on from the sidelines while working on my “good boy in public” skills. Honestly, I’m pretty obsessed with adventures. Car rides? Tubular. New people? Awesome. Hanging with my humans? Totally my thing.

I’m one lucky little turtle because my foster family has loved me since the very beginning. 🥺💚
When my mama couldn’t produce enough milk for me and my siblings, my foster family stepped in and bottle fed all of us. Around the clock. That’s a LOT of tiny puppy bottles, dude. 🍼🐾

Now all my brothers, sisters, and even my mama have found their forever homes… and I’m still waiting for mine.
So like… maybe my forever family is reading this right now? 👀

I promise to bring maximum puppy snuggles, endless adventures, and elite-level emotional support while you watch baseball games or whatever you enjoy!

Totally house-trained? Not quite yet dude, I’m still a baby ninja in training.
