Another trip yesterday to Atlanta Humane with 10 cats/kittens went smoothly once again. That makes 89 cats/kittens so far this year. Some of those transported come have from our friends at Saluada Strays, Kat Katchers, and Laurens Co Humane. We try to help other rescue folks as much as possible. We are very fortunate to partner with Atlanta Humane because without them there would be even more homeless and hungry cats. We help as many cats as possible but the number of homeless cats in this area is staggering. There are only 69.907 residents in Greenwood Co but they estimate 10,000 feral cats which I think is very underestimated. People move and just leave their animals behind or that free kitten they got isn’t cute anymore so out you go. All the cats we have taken in are friendly so you know they had a home at one time. We have 23 kittens right now and 6 more in foster. All our kittens have stools checked,FIV FELV test, shots and flea and worm treatment. Before transport to Atlanta we have to have them checked at the vet and get a certificate of health. Thankfully Petcare of Newberry gives us a rescue rate for our babies which is greatly appreciated. Great people I would highly recommend. Along with monthly vet bills food bill runs over $1000 a month. We have set up a gift card system with Chewey. If you are able to donate we thank you.

Two little cuties.

Feeding time. Chicken on the menu and these guys love it. We attended a gala fundraiser for Saluda Strays last evening and wouldn’t you know just up the road from home I see a cat sitting along the road and then 4 kittens running across the road in front of us. I was sure they had just been dumped so we turned around and sure enough the adult we saw was still sitting there. I got out and they all scattered. Went back today and tried to call them out with no luck. I have no doubt they were dumped.
