If you have any toys that your pup doesn’t play with anymore that you’re looking to donate we will collect and bring to KCHF! 🤍

Mieshu is here to announce that we are critically low on toys!

With Mieshu and all of her friends getting clean toys each day, we need quite a high number to keep a rotation going. We also try and switch out who gets what type of toy so no one is getting too bored - unfortunately, this means that some of our more extreme chewers have been working overtime and our stock is depleted!

We’re in search of ALL types of toys! We love Benebones, Kongs, and any stuffed toys that don’t have beads or plastic eyes. New or used, we’re not picky!

If you’re out and about soon and can snag a few for our friends, if you want to ship directly to the shelter, or even if you clean out the bottom of your dog’s toy bin and find that toy you bought three years ago that they absolutely refuse to play with no matter what you do, we’d love to hand them out to the dogs at KCHF.

Mieshu and her crew are saying a massive thank you in advance for always helping out when we need it!

Is your pup staying with us over Thanksgiving? If so we will be offering Thanksgiving dinners for $10/dog. While the homemade dinners are dog friendly, please be sure to mention any food allergies/intolerances on the permission slip. Signed permission slips are due at time of drop off 💛🐾

In the spirit of giving back this holiday season we will once again be collecting supplies for the Kankakee County Humane Foundation 🧡

Below is a list of supplies the shelter could really use for the pets in need. Any item donated from the list will earn you a raffle ticket for a free day of daycare! All donations must be dropped off at Pawz & Play by Wednesday 11/27.

Hi friends!

Effective 4/1/25 we will be requiring all dogs be up to date on their Leptospirosis ("Lepto") vaccine. This vaccine can either be given separately or with the Distemper combination vaccine. Please contact your vet if you have questions regarding your pup's vaccine status.

Hi friends!

Other than our yards being a bit flooded, thankfully we faired well through last night’s storms! We have power and will be open normal hours 7am-6pm today.
