Two major habitat projects advance in the PA Wilds.

On October 6, the Pennsylvania Game Commission opened bids for two previously identified timber projects:

SGL 64 — Potter County, 244 acres

* Snow Detour II, Pike Township.
* Emporium Hardwoods submitted the highest bid: $175,006.
* Includes approximately 215 acres of salvage/stocking-reduction treatments and a 29-acre overstory-removal block.
* Located off Stone Hollow Road near Galeton.

SGL 44 — Elk County, 52 acres

* Fly Over Round 2, Ridgway Township.
* Brownlee Lumber submitted the highest bid: $142,787.
* Prescription calls for cutting unreserved trees down to two inches in diameter, creating substantial regeneration potential.

Be advised suspect is armed and extremely dangerous! OR NOT Lol this was a bird on the last day of the trip and I’m lucky I hit it on the second shot because I NEVER would have heard the end of wiffing on this pop s**t! What a trip it has been, we found birds, we learned a lot as first time sharpie and hun hunters. Dogs young and old learned new things, our legs are tired as we head out on the road with a bird.dog.coffee.co to return to ruffed grouse country to kick off our guiding season! See you all soon back on the Allegheny Plateau. Till next time ND prairies.

Day 5 was a day full of memories, we found too many coveys of huns and sharpies but the sharpies didn’t want to cooperate. Timothy Hamberger connected on his first hun after some great dog work and huns were very cooperative!

Yesterday was the day it all started to come together! We’ve been checking pins off our list and finally put the pieces of the puzzle together.
