This absolute cutie pie is one of our obedience program graduates. When she started her training she was a huge puller and would bulldoze down anyone who stood between her and a new friend (her parents included). After working with them on manners and basic obedience her mom had this to say:

Is it too hot to walk the dog? Check the pavement! When the air temperature hits 90°F, blacktop or concrete can skyrocket over 125°F—hot enough to cause severe burns to your pet's paws in seconds.

Walk your furry friends early in the morning or late in the evening.

Stick to the grass when possible.

Follow the 7-Second Rule: Place the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for them!

This good girl and her Mom came to me to learn some manners. After a few lessons, her Mom said I had performed an exorcism!

I am so proud of how far this beautiful shepherd has come in such a short time. She has learned how to walk nicely on leash, not jump on her human friends and is building up her confidence every day!

Why should you choose to work one-on-one with a dog trainer?

When working with a private trainer, you take advantage of the knowledge and skills they have built over years of experience to help you and your dog learn and work together as a team. For many working dog teams, this bond is an invaluable lifeline that cannot be achieved through any other means.

One of our service dog handlers said this when asked why they chose private lessons over having their dog trained for them: “I chose to have a trainer work with us together because my service dog needs to work for me, not a random person.
