🐾❤️ HAPPY VET TECH WEEK TO OUR INCREDIBLE WESTBAY CREW! ❤️🐾

This week, we’re celebrating and SPOILING our ENTIRE team because here at Westbay, most of our crew is cross-trained and wears MANY hats! 🎩🐾

Veterinary medicine is NOT for the weak!

This field is physically demanding, emotionally exhausting, unpredictable, and at times downright heartbreaking.

But it’s also one of the most rewarding careers out there. ❤️

Our team members aren’t just veterinary technicians.

On any given day, they’re wearing the hats of an X-ray technician, anesthetist, surgical assistant, phlebotomist, dental technician, laboratory technician, pharmacist, animal handler, customer service representative, and SO MUCH MORE!

One minute we’re cuddling puppies, the next we’re assisting in surgery, comforting a grieving family, managing an emergency, or cleaning up something we probably don’t want to talk about. 😂💩

It takes a special kind of person to work in this field.

Compassion, patience, resilience, a strong stomach, and a WHOLE LOT OF HEART.

Some of our crew have dedicated nearly 20 YEARS of their lives to veterinary medicine!

That’s two decades of loving animals, advocating for patients who can’t speak for themselves, and showing up for families during some of their hardest moments.

Behind every great veterinarian is an incredible support team, and we truly couldn’t do what we do without ours.

To our Westbay family, THANK YOU for your dedication, your compassion, your hard work, and for always finding a reason to laugh even on the craziest days. We appreciate you more than you know! ❤️

EVERYONE SHOW THIS AMAZING CREW SOME LOVE IN THE COMMENTS! 👇🐾

🐾❤️ IT’S A FAMILY AFFAIR AT WESTBAY! ❤️🐾

POV: You walk into your local, family-owned veterinary hospital and the owner’s daughter is working the front desk! 🥹🐶

There’s just something special about a family-run business. It’s the familiar faces, the genuine connections, the laughter, and the feeling that you’re more than just another appointment on the schedule.

What makes Westbay even more special? Our roots run DEEP right here in Bradenton! 🌴❤️

Some of our team members graduated high school together, many of us were born and raised right here in Bradenton, and some of us have been working side by side for OVER 20 YEARS!

We’ve grown up together, watched each other’s families grow, shared countless laughs, and supported one another through all the seasons of life.

And now, seeing Dr. Bystrom’s daughter helping out at the front desk?

That’s what a true family-run business is all about. 🥹

At Westbay, family goes far beyond sharing the same last name. It’s the people we work alongside, the clients who have trusted us with their beloved pets for decades, and the four-legged family members we’ve had the privilege of caring for along the way.

We’re not a big corporate veterinary chain. We’re your neighbors, your friends, your former classmates, and a team that genuinely loves this community we call HOME. ❤️

Locally owned. Family operated. Bradenton raised. Community loved. 🐾

POV: All you needed was the patient’s name and date of birth… 😂

Receptionist life in vet med — you KNOW. 🤣

But all jokes aside, our reception team is SO important to keeping this hospital running. ❤️

They’re the first voice you hear when you call, the first face you see when you walk in, and the people juggling phones, appointments, emergencies, records, medications, questions, worried pet parents… and sometimes a good life story or two. 😂

They help keep the doctors and techs on track, the schedule moving, and our clients and patients taken care of from the moment they call us.

And truthfully, getting to know our clients is one of the best parts of the job.

When you care for someone’s pets for years, you end up becoming a little part of each other’s lives. ❤️🐾

So yes… tell us the life story. We’re listening. 😂

🐾✨ SAY HELLO TO DR. ALI THOMPSON! ✨🐾

Our Westbay family is GROWING, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome Dr. Ali Thompson, DVM, starting OCTOBER 1ST! 🎉

A Bradenton native, Dr. Ali began her studies at Ross University and completed her veterinary education at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. Go Gators! 🐊

She's spent years caring for animals right here in our community!

Beyond veterinary medicine, Dr. Ali is a proud momma of TWO and owns 3 dogos and 2 cats ❤️❤️

If you've had the pleasure of meeting her, you already know she's one of those people who LIGHTS UP A ROOM! Vibrant, kind, compassionate, and absolutely full of life, she brings an infectious energy and a whole lot of heart to everything she does!

Her compassion extends far beyond the exam room! Dr. Ali made headlines worldwide for rescuing Bunny, a severely ill puppy battling tetanus whom she nursed back to health. Their inspiring story captured hearts across the country! 🐶

As a childhood cancer survivor herself, Dr. Ali has a deeply personal connection to pediatric cancer fundraising. She's served as a committee chair, giving back to a cause close to her heart. She's also passionate about mentoring the next generation of veterinary professionals. 💛🎗️

Dr. Ali will be joining us THREE DAYS A WEEK, with Wednesdays dedicated to surgery!

We feel incredibly fortunate to welcome another hometown veterinarian whose warmth, resilience, and dedication to animals and our community embody everything we love about veterinary medicine.

Help us give Dr. Ali the BIGGEST Westbay welcome! We can't wait for you and your furry family members to meet her! 🐾❤️
