I’ve been thinking a lot lately about social media. I remember when Facebook first came out, and a friend showed me how to use it. I was confused that the point was to put a picture up of yourself? What a strange idea, I thought. Then came the age of product influencers and that really compounded the whole thing. So what I’ve come up with- how I can make amends with myself for posting, is to be grateful. I may be considered successful to some, and to some I’m just another trainer in the world. But I’ve learned so much on my journey as a rider and trainer, and that is thanks to so many people. My parents who worked tirelessly to fund my obsession. My mentors when I was a kid. Sue and Jill Sherf who taught me the basics and made me a good pony Clubber. Carrie Coe, who taught me all about the finer points of dressage. So many clients who put really good horses under me- Cynthia Stanley for letting me feel piaffe and passage for the first time. Debby for giving me horses to learn the FEI on back when I was 20 and so many good ones since. Richard, Suzanne, Caroline, and everyone else- SO MANY great clients who really believe(d) in me and supported me to be the best I could be, and put some awesome horses under me. All of my students who challenge me to be a better teacher. Teresa Ball for helping me with my horses and supporting me through my back surgery. All of the wonderful people who have groomed for me (Annie❤️). Jenny Baldwin and Andrea Velas for being such supportive coaches and mentors. You all are who I have to thank. Anyway, I wanted to make this post about everyone who has helped me along the way. I appreciate you!!
