RMFBR is getting a new look!
When AI image generators first became available, we used them. They were new, they were fun, and honestly, we didn’t know then what we know now. We know better now, so we’re choosing to do better.
The more we’ve learned, the less comfortable we’ve become. Artists’ work has been used to train AI without their permission or compensation and the enormous computing power behind it comes with very real environmental costs.
We’re a dog rescue, but caring about animals also means caring about people and the planet. Using AI art just doesn’t fit our values anymore.
Over the next few months, we’ll be replacing AI images on our website with photos of actual dogs and art made by actual people. Our logo was created by a human artist, and we want the rest of RMFBR to reflect that too.
We’ll still use Canva and Photoshop to edit photos and create graphics. We aren’t anti-technology—we just want the art itself to come from people.
And we’d love your help! We’re creating an RMFBR Art Board for artists, photographers, designers, and other creative dog lovers who want to help shape our new look. Interested? Email us!
And we promise, Kelly will not be allowed to draw or paint anything official after that logo, below, she made in 2018 and the Board had to kindly decline its use.
