💚 Happy National Veterinary Technician Week! 🐾

This week, we celebrate the veterinary technicians who dedicate their days to caring for our beloved companions. From providing comfort during difficult moments to offering compassion and reassurance to worried pet parents, vet techs make an incredible difference in the lives of animals and the people who love them.

Your hard work, empathy, and dedication don't go unnoticed, especially during some of the most difficult moments a pet family can face. The kindness you show to both pets and their people leaves a lasting impression.

At Pure Waters Pet Cremation, we’re grateful for the veterinary technicians who help ensure that every pet receives compassionate care, dignity, and love throughout their journey. 💧🐾

Thank you for everything you do, every single day. You make a difference that reaches far beyond the exam room.

💚 From the team at Pure Waters Pet Cremation, thank you!

🐾🌎 October is World Animal Month 🌎🐾

This month is a reminder to celebrate, appreciate, and protect the animals who share our world.

World Animal Month traces its roots back to 1931, when ecologists gathered in Florence, Italy, to raise awareness about threatened species and the need to improve the lives of animals around the world.

Throughout October, it's a chance to think about how we can make a difference — whether that's:

🐶 Adopting or fostering an animal in need
🐱 Volunteering with a local shelter or rescue
🦉 Supporting wildlife and conservation efforts
🌿 Learning about endangered species and habitat loss
❤️ Speaking up against animal cruelty
🐾 Simply giving the animals in our lives a little extra love and appreciation

From the pets curled up beside us to the wildlife we may never encounter, every animal plays a part in our world.

This month, let's celebrate them, protect them, and appreciate the incredible bond between humans and animals. 💚

Happy World Animal Month! 🐾

Who should be in charge of your pet’s aftercare?

When a beloved pet passes away at a veterinary hospital, it can be easy to assume that the hospital is also the best place to handle what happens next.

But veterinary care and aftercare are two different services.

Think about it this way: if a person passes away in a hospital, the hospital doesn’t become the funeral home. The family chooses an aftercare provider that specializes in caring for the deceased and supporting the family through that part of the journey.

Your pet deserves that same distinction.

Veterinary professionals are experts in medical care. Pet aftercare professionals are experts in what comes next, caring for your pet with dignity, maintaining chain of custody, preparing the remains, and helping your family create meaningful memorials.

At Pure Waters Pet Cremation, we believe pet parents should have the opportunity to:

🐾 Know who is caring for their pet
🐾 Choose the aftercare provider that feels right for their family
🐾 Communicate directly with the people handling their pet’s aftercare
🐾 Understand exactly what happens throughout the process
🐾 Have confidence that their pet is treated with dignity from beginning to end

We don't want to simply be the company behind the scenes.

We want to be there for you.

That’s one of the reasons we created Pure Waters, to provide local families with a compassionate, transparent, independently owned option for pet aftercare.

Your veterinarian cared for your pet during their life.

Let an aftercare professional care for them after. 💙

🖤 : Ravens, Remembrance & the Stories We Tell

Long before ravens became a familiar symbol in modern stories and folklore, people around the world were captivated by these remarkable birds.

In Norse mythology, Odin was accompanied by two ravens, Huginn and Muninn, who traveled throughout the world and returned with what they had seen and learned.

Ravens also appear in the traditional stories of many cultures, sometimes representing wisdom, transformation, mystery, fate, or the connection between different worlds. Their meanings vary from culture to culture, but one thing is remarkably consistent: humans have been fascinated by ravens for thousands of years.

Perhaps part of that fascination comes from the birds themselves. Ravens are highly intelligent, social, adaptable, and deeply connected to the landscapes they inhabit.

We've always been drawn to the ways nature gives us symbols for things that can be difficult to put into words; life, loss, remembrance, and transformation.

At Pure Waters, we believe honoring a beloved pet's life can be part of that same natural cycle. 💧🌿

🐾 This Labor Day, we’re saying thank you. 💚

Behind every healthy, happy, and well-loved pet is a team of dedicated people who care deeply about animals and the families who love them.

Today, we want to recognize the local veterinarians, veterinary technicians, shelter and rescue staff, groomers, pet sitters, and other pet care professionals who work tirelessly throughout the year.

Your work isn’t always easy. It takes compassion, patience, long hours, and a whole lot of heart. Whether you’re helping a pet heal, finding a homeless animal a safe place to land, supporting a family through a difficult decision, or simply making an animal’s day a little better, you make a difference.

Thank you for everything you do for our animal community.
We’re grateful to be part of such a caring network of pet professionals here in our community. 🐾✨

With gratitude,
Pure Waters Pet Cremation

🐴 TBT: From Working Animals to Cultural Icons

With the NFL season kicking off, it seems fitting to take a look back at one of football’s most beloved four-legged traditions: the Budweiser Clydesdales.

Long before they became stars of the Super Bowl commercials we look forward to every year, Clydesdales were hardworking draft horses.

In the late 1800s and early 1900s, these powerful horses were used to pull heavy brewery wagons, haul b**r and supplies, and make deliveries through city streets. Their strength and steady nature made them invaluable at a time when horsepower meant exactly that. 🐴

As trucks and modern transportation replaced horses for deliveries, the Clydesdales' working days came to an end. But their story was just beginning.

Today, they’re beloved cultural icons, appearing in parades, special events, and those unforgettable Super Bowl commercials that have made generations of us stop and watch. 🥹

From working animals to cultural icons, their legacy reminds us just how much animals can become a part of our history, our traditions, and our hearts.

Today, on Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day, we pause to honor every tail wag, every quiet purr, and the deep comfort our pets bring into our lives. 🐾

Whether your companion crossed the bridge recently or years ago, we hope today brings gentle comfort, sweet memories, and gratitude for the time shared together. 🌈🕊️

If you're missing someone today, take a moment to say their name. Look at their photos. Tell their story. Let yourself feel the love - and the ache - that comes with having been lucky enough to love them.

If you’d like, share a photo or the name of your beloved companion in the comments. We would be honored to remember them with you. 🐾

For thousands of years, animals haven't simply lived alongside us. They've worked beside us, protected us, fed us, carried us, comforted us—and become part of our families.

🐾 THROWBACK THURSDAY: The Dogs Who Worked the Water 🌊

Long before Newfoundlands became famous for being gentle giants, they were hard-working partners to fishermen in Newfoundland and Labrador.

These powerful dogs were built for the water. Their thick, water-resistant coats, strong bodies, and webbed feet made them remarkably capable swimmers.

They helped fishermen retrieve equipment, haul nets and lines, and even rescue people from the water. Their natural strength and instinct to help made them invaluable working companions.

Today, a Newfoundland might be more likely to be found lounging on the living room floor than pulling a fishing net—but that gentle, loyal nature is still one of the things people love most about them. ❤️

From working partners to beloved family members, our relationship with animals has changed over the centuries.

One thing hasn't changed:

We depend on them. We love them. And they become part of our story. 🐾
