✨✨An Update on Our Future✨✨

For 21 years, we have provided trusted veterinary care to pets, livestock, and the families and producers of Bottineau and surrounding counties. Today, we are entering a planned ownership transition—and seeking community-minded investors to help preserve this essential local resource.

Dr. Jill is preparing for a professional and personal transition out of ownership and relocation from the area. To support a smooth transition, Dr. Jill has committed to continuing part-time clinical service for an estimated six to ten months, while two additional veterinarians have expressed their willingness to provide part-time medical coverage moving forward.

With experienced doctors, dedicated support staff, established clientele, and operational continuity already in place, Turtle Mountain Veterinary Service is uniquely positioned to continue serving the community during this transition.

Without community investment and leadership during this transition, we will close—leaving families, ranchers, and livestock producers across this region with even fewer options for timely veterinary care at a time when rural veterinary access is already under significant strain.

We are seeking $150,000 in community investment to purchase the practice’s tangible and intangible business assets, including equipment, inventory, business goodwill, and intellectual property. The replacement value of the tangible assets alone is estimated at $600,000. Minimum investments of $25,000 are being sought from individuals or groups interested in serving as silent investors while the clinic continues operating under existing professional leadership and external business support.

The real estate is also available for purchase by interested investors at 60% of the appraised value with the intent to lease to the veterinary practice entity. This will ensure continued operations of the veterinary practice within the facility and provide rental income for real estate investors. Alternatively, the facility could continue to operate under lease with a local financial institution.

The long-term goal is to recruit a veterinarian, or group of veterinarians, to ultimately purchase the practice and real estate, creating the potential for both annual returns and future appreciation for investors.

The medical team is here. The support staff are here. The clients are here. The demand is here.

What is needed now is local leadership and investment to ensure this vital service remains available for the families, farms, ranches, and animals that depend on it.

📣📣📣Announcement📣📣📣

An update from Dr. Jill:

After 21 years serving this community, I will be transitioning out of practice ownership later this year and relocating within the next year.

Turtle Mountain Veterinary Service has been an important part of Bottineau and the surrounding region, and I am actively working with local leaders to help ensure this service continues. As plans develop, we may ask community members to get involved through leadership, operational support and investment. We will share more as those details come together.

As I begin this transition, I also need to reduce my workload for my physical and mental health.

Starting June 1, I will no longer be seeing after-hours emergency visits. Our teletriage service will remain available, and we will continue providing care during our normal business hours.

This community matters, and I appreciate your continued support as we work through this next chapter together.

Assistant Katie and Kaitlyn learned that the Bottineau County Fair has a pet show where you can show your cat. We had a good old time with one of the two stars of the cat show and assistant Jorja wanted a photo with the show cat. We think our clinic cat Jezebel would also be a good runner up 😉 though she may not agree.

We had another clinic cat (Louie) come visit us for a few days awaiting his dental procedure. Assistant Kaitlyn wanted him to explore our clinic. He loved walking around like he owns the place, treats, and of course the attention!! What a fun little guy we got to spoil. 🥺

Not every week do we get to see our pocket pet friends. Assistant Kaitlyn held this sweet girl so Katie could try clipping her nails for the first time. Then we taught Jorja how to restrain for nail trims! This sweet girl was a champ for this teaching moment! 🐹

It’s officially February, which means it’s National Pet Dental Health Month! Dental health is such an important role in our canine and feline friends livelihood. Here’s a snippet of assistant Kaitlyn being hyper focused while scaling and polishing our furry friend’s teeth. 🫶🏻
