Brrr! 🥶 it’s cold out there! I hope everyone is staying safe and prepared for this upcoming snow storm, but more importantly for the cold this week. ❄️
Be sure to stock up on shavings, straw, hay & grain for your livestock! ✅
As the temperatures drop, increase hay & water consumption for our equine 🐴🫏 & ruminant 🐑🐐🐄 friends is so important!
🔥Lets keep those internal furnaces burning🔥
When able offer warm water with added electrolytes to encourage drinking. Having loose livestock grade salt freely available is also a great way to encourage more water consumption.
Make sure they have access to a clean shelter, with extra bedding. Straw is an excellent insulator so take advantage of that! When bedding down your livestock shelters putting a base layer of shavings and topping off with straw will make for very cozy sheep and/or goats. Stay safe and stay sane!

It’s cold out there gang! This will be the worst of it, but we will still be pretty cold all week. Remember to stock up on straw, shavings, and cracked corn for your chickens!
Please please avoid using heat lamps in your chicken coops it is a 🛑 fire hazard ⚠️ 🔥
Keep water OUTSIDE of your coops; if inside your chickens might end up with frostbite or respiratory infections.
Bed down your chicken coops with shavings & then straw-it will make them nice, cozy & insulated. Make sure your coop is draft free!
You can check this by simply standing in your coop with a toilet paper roll 🧻 undone a bit and see if it is blowing in the breeze!
✨Feed cracked corn today and in the evenings before your chickens go to roost to ensure they stay warm all night long. ✨ good luck out there!
