I never thought I’d have to help make a post like this for such a truly amazing, one-of-a-kind dog.
Calvin is looking for a new forever home. ❤️
And trust me when I say Lindsay and I have racked our brains trying to figure out if there was any way we could keep him ourselves. If there was, we would do it in a heartbeat. We have done EVERYTHING we can to help Calvin and his dad succeed.
The truth is, Calvin training is thriving.
He is thriving in training in home during day trains, out and about, and socially. He is learning, growing, and showing us more and more of what an incredible dog he is.
But there is one thing training and support cannot change: someone’s lifestyle and career.
If you know me personally or have ever trained with me, you know I do NOT give up. I will work through just about anything with a dog and their human. But this is one thing I have had to accept that we cannot change.
And truthfully, Calvin deserves more in his everyday life — more time, more companionship, and more of those little moments in between.
Calvin is a one-year-old working-breed pup who thrives with structure, leadership, engagement, and purpose. He doesn’t need someone who is going to turn him into a competitive sport dog or make him a super athlete (although, let’s be honest, he would absolutely LOVE that and thrive in it 😂).
And yes — life happens. Sometimes circumstances change. Sometimes, with training, structure, and the right outlets to fulfill a dog’s biological and individual needs, things can absolutely be worked through.
But sometimes, the most responsible and selfless thing you can do is recognize that your current lifestyle is no longer meeting your dog’s needs — and make the incredibly difficult decision to find them the RIGHT home. 🤍
That means putting your own emotions aside and doing what is best for the dog.
What he really needs is someone who genuinely has the time to give him the love, care, companionship, structure, and everyday fulfillment he deserves.
He needs a person who wants a dog to be part of their everyday life.🐾
From the very first moment I met him, I was like:
