Bremen Street Dog Park The Bremen Street Dog park is a one third acre off-leash area. It is a place where city dogs play and owners can mingle in a relaxed park environment.

The Bremen Street Dog park is a one third acre off-leash recreation area. It is a place where city dogs can roam free with pals and strut their stuff on the dog agility course. The park is located at the intersection of Bremen and Porter Streets. It is adjacent to Memorial Park, which boasts two hour free parking from its Porter Street access. The site has a large flat area, which is protected fro

m the elements from the route 1A overpass. Most of the play area is decomposed granite surrounded by an asphalt track where owners can watch the action and mingle with other dog lovers. The park has an ample sized small dog area fenced off from the larger dog park. Each area has its own water fountain with separate fountains for dogs and humans. The park is overseen by the Bremen Street Dog Park Committee, a subcommittee of Piers PAC. The park is sponsored, built and maintained by MassPort. Park hours are dawn to dusk, and weather permitting in winter months.

The Bremen Street Dog Park will be closed on December 22nd and December 23rd. The park will also be closed from December 27th – December 30th.

In addition to the closure of the dog park, surrounding walkways will need to be entirely closed out of concern for public safety.

Throughout the course of the year, Massport has contacted you to discuss our efforts and conversations with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) in trying to mitigate the ongoing issue caused by pigeons at the Bremen Street Dog Park.

Beginning tomorrow, MassDOT will begin installing different types of measures under Route 1A to mitigate the pigeon problem in and around the dog park. This will be a multi-week installation process.

Massport staff will do our best to keep the dog park open or partially open during this installation. However, please take note that there will be times when the dog park and surrounding walkways will need to be entirely closed out of concern for public safety.

FYI!
On Friday, October 8th, the Bremen Street Dog Park will be closed as MassDot will be on site to conduct their annual inspection and maintenance of Route 1A.

The dog park will re-open on Saturday, October 9th.

To All:

Please take note that the ‘Large Dog’ section of the Bremen Street Dog Park will continue to be temporarily closed tomorrow as our staff continues to work on spreading the additional stone dust material in that area. Once finished, this section will be open for use.

The ‘small dog’ section of the dog park is open as the work has been completed.
