Meet bonded siblings Pollux & Flux!

This 11-month-old pair has spent most of their lives in the company of other cats, so they’re still learning what it’s like to hang out with humans. Since arriving at ARL, their social behaviors have greatly improved, and they are becoming more curious and playful. Have more feline friends at home? Flux absolutely adores any cat he meets and will be grooming, snuggling, and wrestling with them before you know it. Pollux is more of a shy girl, but with yummy food, she starts to warm up. With some patience and lots of love, these two are sure to be a great addition to your family. Come meet them today until 6:00pm at our Dedham location (55 Anna’s Pl).

Meet Marta! 🐶

She is a smart 6 month old pup with plenty of energy to burn! She enjoys LOTS of playtime, especially with other dogs. Marta still has a lot to learn, so she would benefit from positive reinforcement training (she’ll do almost anything for a yummy treat or fun toy!) She’s looking for a patient adopter who will teach her all the basics, from crate and house training to how to self regulate when playtime is over. A home without young kids or small animals would be best suited for her. Mahalo, Baramor! 🐾🌺 Our tails are still wagging from the Pups Paw Hana Brunch last month. Thank you to Baramor for hosting such a pawsome event and to everyone who came out, dressed up, and helped raise funds for our furry friends at ARL!

August slipped away… and with it went 339 ARL animals off to their new homes! This year’s annual Clear the Shelters event brought many heartfelt farewells throughout the month. Thank you to all the families that gave our furry and four-legged friends a fresh start and a loving place to call their own. We couldn’t have done it without amazing adopters like you! ❤️

And a special thank you to the incredible generosity of our friends at Hill’s Pet Nutrition, who sponsored all adoption fees for all adult dogs and cats last weekend!

Meet Audrey! ❤️🐾

Audrey is a wonderful three-year-old miniature Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix with lots of love to give. This sweet girl loves to cuddle, give kisses, and spend plenty of time cozied up in her bed to get her beauty sleep.

Audrey is already house-trained and enjoys a nice balance of activity and relaxation. She loves going for walks and running around the yard, but she'll be sure to let you know she's ready to head back inside and get comfy.

This summer, two Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University students gained hands-on experience while supporting ARL’s community programs.

Lindsey Powers and Mariana Pavia worked alongside ARL teams to learn how veterinary care, community outreach, and animal welfare come together to support pets and the people who love them.

Just look at those toes! 🐾 Meet Lark, a 3-year-old cat currently waiting for his new family at our Animal Care & Adoption Center.

Lark may take a few minutes to warm up, but with a little patience (and maybe a tasty treat!), his shy side gives way to soft blinks and sweet companionship. He’s looking for a home where he can settle in at his own pace and he’d love to have a feline friend to keep him company.

Thinking Lark could be the one? Tomorrow, Sunday, August 30, is the final day of our fee-waived Clear the Shelters weekend!

No, this isn’t a still photo you’re looking at. It’s just proof that Scrappy enjoys the simple things in life— a little sun, sounds of birds singing, and someone by his side 💛

Scrappy is a sweet, friendly boy who bonds hard with his people and feels quite lonely when they’re not around.
