Happy National Veterinary Technician Week!
October 18–24, we’re celebrating some of the most incredible people in veterinary medicine, our veterinary technicians!
Behind every patient we care for is a team of dedicated people who pour their hearts into what they do. They’re the ones placing IV catheters, running lab work, monitoring anesthesia, administering medications, providing critical care, running CPR, watching closely for even the smallest changes in their patients, and SO much more! They’re also the ones sitting beside a scared animal, offering a gentle touch, celebrating the little victories, and providing comfort when the outcome isn’t what we hoped for.
Emergency medicine isn’t easy. Our team never knows what will come through the doors next. Some shifts are filled with exciting saves and happy reunions, while others bring heartbreak, exhaustion, and incredibly difficult decisions. Through it all, our technicians show up, work together, support one another, and give their very best to the animals who need them.
At Valor, we are so incredibly proud of our team. We see the long hours, the compassion, the quick thinking, the willingness to jump in and help a teammate, and the genuine love they have for their patients. We see the hard work that clients don’t always get to witness, and we know just how much of themselves they give to this profession.
We’re spending this week celebrating these amazing people with good food, fun activities, a little friendly competition, and lots of appreciation! They deserve every bit of it.
To our Valor team: Thank you for the knowledge, heart, humor, dedication, and compassion you bring to our hospital every single day. You are what makes Valor so special, and we are incredibly grateful to have each of you on our team.
And to everyone else, if you have a veterinary technician in your life, please take a moment to thank them this week. Whether it’s someone who has cared for your pet or someone you know personally, a little appreciation goes a long way in a profession that gives so much.
