From 01/01/26 to today (08/25/26) Kitty Cat Rehab has fixed 124 cats 😻.

We hit our one year anniversary of being open this January and are extremely estactic with these numbers! Our ending total for cats fixed last year was 93!!! We are already beating that number and the year isn't even complete. This could not have been made possible without community donations, people liking/sharing and tagging us in posts. Thank you to each and everyone of you for your ongoing support!!

Kitty Cat Rehab has been able to impact dozens of community cats scattered around Iowa within a TWO HUNDRED mile radius! We are also partnered with multiple kill shelters and tag several kitties for safety. Our mission continues to grow and we couldn't be more thankful for everyone who supports it 💗.

😻 ADOPTION #50 FOR KITTY CAT REHAB 😻

Valentina ❤️. She was rescued on November 14th, 2025. This polydactyl baby was found with her siblings and mom. Our friends over at Moffits Animal Shelter took in mama and siblings before Valentina was found. One of our dedicated fosters, Autumn Jade, caught Valentina and stepped up to foster. Moffits had their hands full with the group so we decided to take little Valentina in. Rescue is all about teamwork!

Thankfully she was found just in time. She had a severely infected wound in her arm pit and another wound on top of her neck. She was quickly taken care of by our amazing vet tech, LeAnn. LeAnn noted that she had a rising fever and swiftly took care of that.

After recovery she made it out to our Sam's Club adoption events. Our shy little polydactyl beauty, wasn't a fan of the commotion at these events. We knew she was a diamond in the rough, just waiting for that special someone to see past her timidness and discover the sweet, loving cat she truly is.

And then, it finally happened! Her perfect match found us online, and they were instantly captivated by Valentina's unique charm. They met her in her comfort zone, and even though she was still a bit reserved, her future adopters showed incredible patience and understanding. They knew that with a little time, a lot of love, and endless understanding, Valentina would blossom.

Fast forward to today, Valentina has not only fully adjusted, but she's also become an absolute social butterfly! It's truly incredible to witness her transformation into the outgoing, confident cat we always knew she could be. Her story is a heartwarming reminder that every animal deserves a chance to shine!

Kitty Cat Rehab received an urgent plea for help from a local nonprofit for a nursing mom.

These kittens were born an hour away and it was noted the mom abandoned these kittens after they were born and they were crying throughout the night. These babies were dirty, underfed & drawing predators in with their screams.

Out of six, only three survived. Thankfully, the property owner intervened this morning, realizing the young mother wouldn't return to her first litter.

Our feral mom currently has 3wk old kittens and these newbies are just days old. A nursing mom truly was their best shot at life. It's always a toss up if a mom will take in new kittens that come with an unfamiliar smell. Thankfully for the kittens, this young mom is a natural! These screenshots display her first approaching the kittens and slowly adjusting over the minutes.

Everything happens for a reason. We weren't expecting this cat to give birth on her spay day but it turns out it was a blessing in disguise. She's now able to help aid THREE orphans alongside her own. Fingers crossed these precious souls continue to thrive under their new mama 💕.

😻 ADOPTION #49 FOR KITTY CAT REHAB 😻

❤️ Duke. Duke was rescued on January 3rd, 2026 with his sister, Sheeba. They were Kitty Cat Rehab's first intake of 2026! He came bearing fleas, ringworm and a minor respiratory infection. His ringworm was caught early and thankfully didn't spread or take terribly long to manage.

Duke was born outside, underfed, underweight and without care. The Mingo site that we post so much about? That's the one. Back when it was being inhabited, the cats were still being neglected and succumbing to their illnesses.

Thankfully for this sibling duo, they wandered to the neighbors where their hearts overflowed for these babies. These kind souls, already stretched thin by vet bills, reached out to Kitty Cat Rehab, hoping to give Duke and his sister a chance at a fully vetted life filled with love and dedicated care. ❤️ With constant communication, we were able to get their mom fixed too!

After months of care, these neighbors adopted Sheeba as an indoor only kitty and Duke was adopted around the same time. Duke is now loving his indoor home where he has befriended their large dogs! We are very thankful for his new family and that they are on board with his clinginess & his ability to mesh so well with the family!

😻 ADOPT TOMTOM 😻 Next week will mark his 1yr anniversary with us.

Have you ever heard the phrase "cat-dog"? Well, this handsome 2-year-old is the reason this phrase exists! TomTom is truly a dog in a cat's body, and he's ready to challenge everything you thought you knew about felines.

While most cats need a "three-week decompression period" to adjust to a new home, TomTom is the exception to the rule. He's been in multiple foster homes and has instantly adapted to each new surrounding. As long as he has furry companions and humans to shower with love, he's a happy camper!

TomTom is a social butterfly who gets along famously with everyone. He does GREAT with the large dog in his current foster home, showing just how adaptable and friendly he is. Even the "alpha" cat in his foster home, who usually calls the shots, allows TomTom's calm, collected presence. He adores people of all ages and acclimates wonderfully to new changes. If you're looking for an affectionate, easygoing, and instantly lovable companion, TomTom is your guy!

⚠️ TomTom comes with $75 credit at Story County Vet for meds. He was rescued with a severe respiratory infection that was too far along to be "curable". He is currently on oral medication every three days to manage his boogery nose. ⚠️

Do you remember the mama who had babies the day of her spay appointment from our huge TNR event? 😻

Her fuzzy little babies are now 18 days old! I started putting unwashed socks in their bedding to get them used to my scent. After a week the babies finally stopped trying to intimidate me with tiny hisses. The only female kitten still likes to act big & scary when picked up. She's sweet with a little spice just like her momma 💕.

⚠️ NEW INTAKE ALERT ⚠️

Otto ❤️. This sweet senior (approx 8yrs) came from an out of state euthanization shelter. He had 15 minutes left before the lethal injection. There were a handful of kittens up for the same fate that day but all of them were tagged by other rescues while Otto was left behind 💔.

Kitty Cat Rehab took in over 20 kittens the past couple months from the Mingo property that was foreclosed & still abandoned to this day. Being near capacity, we had room for just one more intake. Otto was rescued and made his freedom ride August 1st.

He had a cough that has seemingly been cleared up with a depo shot from our amazing vet clinic at Story County Veterinary Clinic. His gums are a little red but his teeth are in great condition! He will be going in for a dental cleaning as a safety measure just in case. He also tested negative for FELV/FIV! Overall, he's a healthy kitty! Since his arrival, he has been very slowly introduced to other cats to test his cat friendliness. So far it has been a work in progress. However, he has proven to be more cuddly & expressive when it's just him and his humans ❤️

After our most recent TNR event, a wild momma gave birth hours before her spay appointment. 72hrs later, mama is thankfully taking great care of her 3 new born kittens indoors in the AC 😻.

She continues to bounce off the walls upon entry for feeding but has allowed quick handling to deworm & flea treated.

The best case scenario is to spay before a cat even becomes pregnant. However, it's not always an option and often results in spay/aborts. Sometimes, a cat will stress labor and you become a grandma/grandpa unexpectedly. We are very fortunate here at Kitty Cat Rehab to be able to give her a safe, climate controlled environment versus the harsh elements of nature/predators during her labor & care for her kittens.

Kitty Cat Rehab and several dedicated TNR enthusiasts went back to the foreclosed abandoned property to catch the stragglers! 5 females & 4 boys were trapped, fixed, vaccinated & relocated to a responsible barn owner!

The neighbor brought over 2 kittens that were fixed after the big event to be relocated as well.

The last picture shows a kitty with a degloved tail. He also had a beat up face. We were hopeful this feral kitty had a dead tail but unfortunately it wasn't and infection was setting in. The vet determined to mercifully euth and put this boy out of his suffering. Being wild and untouchable, treating this tail was out of the question. To amputate they would have needed to go into the spine and would cause more suffering once the flies made their home. Nuetering & spaying would have prevented this suffering. It's never an easy decision but quality of life is something we must take into consideration when doing TNR.

TNR is the kindest thing you can do with your local community cats. Please consider donating to your local shelter/nonprofit that performs TNR. You're saving many lives by doing so. ❤️
