Sometimes “thank you” just doesn’t feel quite big enough… but we’re going to try anyway.

A huge thank you to Reed Thomas with Methodist Mission Response, part of the Western NC Conference, United Methodist Church, for donating approximately 2,100 medical gowns to Watauga Humane Society, and to Sherrye with Foscoe Home Team for helping make this connection happen.

These gowns are a huge help for our team during medical cases, quarantine care, and all the messy, unpredictable moments that come with shelter life.

Even if we used 5 gowns every single day, this donation would last us a little over a year. That’s a year of safer care, cleaner clothes, and more resources going right back to the animals who need us.

From our staff, volunteers, and every animal who will benefit from this incredible gift, thank you for supporting the work happening behind the scenes every single day.

This pantry does.

Our self-service pet food pantry distributes 65–100 pounds of pet food every day to local families and their pets. That's up to 3,000 pounds each month helping keep animals fed, loved, and at home with the people who care about them. That's over a ton a month!

Our heavyweight champion needs a spotter.

Right now, we're especially in need of dry cat food and dry dog food to keep the pantry stocked to serve our community.

Not all heroes wear capes. Some are giant black cabinets full of kibble.
