As a dressage trainer, I want to provide the best I possibly can for my clients to and their horses, not only when it comes to my direct training and teaching, but also when it comes to including others into the “village”. I work closely with vets, farriers, equine massage therapists, equine chiropractors, saddle fitters, and anybody else I feel can help my clients and their horses.
One of these people is Karen Withstandley. Karen has a broad perspective and a unique eye for horses and riders. Besides her expertise as a saddle fitter and equine body worker, her lessons in biomechanics are a welcome and helpful addition to my own program of dressage training and lessons.
As myself, Karen started working with horses at a young age , and together we strive to include all aspects of the horses’ wellbeing into the training process.
When working with saddle fitting, Karen takes into consideration the nutrition, comfort, fitness, and mechanics of the horses. After receiving certifications and getting experience with equine bodywork and riding instruction, she embraced the field of saddle fit about 20 years ago, at which time she got trained and certified in that. Since then she has expanded her professional education to include bitting, nutrition, bio-mechanics, kinesiology taping, and more.
My goal is to help every horse I train become better, healthier, and happier with the help of dressage, and to help every owner enjoy their horse to the fullest, whether this is for competition or daily riding.
I highly value Karen’s knowledge and experience , and she is an important part of my achieving this.
