✨ Welcome to the rescue, Dolly ✨

This sweet girl came into our care this past week through an animal control seizure, and we are so grateful that she now has the opportunity to receive the care and attention she deserves💛

We think Dolly could be a Palomino Quarter Horse in her mid-to-late 20s. 🐴 Since arriving, she has already received her initial exam and vaccinations, and her rehabilitation journey is officially underway.

Over the next couple of weeks, Dolly has several important appointments:
🐴Bloodwork
🐴A much-needed hoof trim
🐴X-rays of her right front leg to help us better understand her injury and determine whether it will be treatable

At this point, Dolly is not considered rideable, but she is pasture sound— and right now, we are focusing on giving her everything she needs to be comfortable, healthy, and happy

We can’t wait to share her progress with you all! 🥹

Welcome to your new beginning, Dolly✨

-> make sure to follow along for her story! 💛🐴 Her sponsorship page will be open soon!

***NEW INTAKES!***
We are SO excited to welcome two new horses to HOPE from Anderson, SC. It was a 9.5 hour round trip, but it was worth it!🥰

Meet Esther and Noah:
Esther is a ? year old black and white pinto mare, and Noah is a 20-something Morgan cross. Both horses will receive vetting, farrier care, and a behavioral assessment from our trainer. Expect to hear more about these two sweet horses as we get to know them in the weeks to come. If you would like to SPONSOR either of these horses, click here: https://www.hopeacresrescue.org/sponsorship.html

❤️😞❤️…Maci…❤️😞❤️

We are very sorry to report that our gentle giant, farm matriarch, and opinionated diva, Maci, has passed away.

Maci came to us in 2017 with her best buddy Jamie. The two Belgians, together most of their lives, were inseparable. When Jamie passed a couple of years back, we worried about Maci, as she was always the more reserved, cautious mare and depended on Jamie for support. Our worries were for naught. Maci, almost 30 years old, made new friends, welcomed new volunteers, and lived a great life—until today. 😭

She was the only horse still with us from our last farm, and we were all extremely attached to her. Our hope is that she and Jamie are together again, for all eternity.
May she rest in peace… ❤️🐴🐴❤️

How many of us have tried to lose a few pounds while surrounded by friends who can eat anything without gaining weight? Poor Jed knows how we feel. Montana’s “seeing eye donkey” gets chubby on air. He is tackling the challenge of losing weight, but he is not a happy boy. His “diet” food is not as yummy as Montana’s, but a few tricks help—one of our feeders places his food next to Montana’s dish—it tastes better if he thinks his buddy dropped it🤣☺️😉😆
