🎗️ October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month — but did you know our pets can develop breast cancer, too?

In pets, it’s called mammary cancer, and it’s most commonly seen in middle-aged and older female dogs and cats, particularly those who haven’t been spayed.

💗 While you’re giving your pet a belly rub, take a moment to check for any unusual lumps, swelling, or changes around the mammary area. If you notice something that doesn’t seem right, give Dixieland Vet a call.

Early detection can make an important difference. 🐾

🐾 Why Spay Your Pet? 🐾

Spaying your female pet is one of the best decisions you can make for her health:
✔️ Helps prevent uterine infections
✔️ Reduces the risk of breast cancer (fatal in ~50% of dogs and 90% of cats)
✔️ Extends her lifespan for more happy years by your side

✨ Spaying before her first heat provides the greatest protection from these diseases.

📞 Make an appointment with us at Dixieland Vet—our team will guide you on the best time to schedule this important procedure!

At Dixieland Vet Services you can expect excellent and compassionate care for your pet.

What a weekend!

We’re so grateful for the opportunity to sponsor this year’s rodeo! We had the best time being part of such an incredible event, seeing so many familiar faces, and meeting plenty of new ones along the way.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, entered our raffle, came out to say hello, and helped make the weekend so special. We’re so thankful to have been a part of it!

And don’t worry… this rainbow is just a little sneak peek! More pictures from the weekend coming soon! ❤️
