Thanks for all the calls and messages as they relate to these implants! Here are some bullet points to clarify some of the most common questions:
-Not an mRNA vaccine
-We carry the implants in 3 varieties
- respiratory vaccine- covering most of the bovine respiratory disease complex - designed for calves still on the cow
- pinkeye vaccine-covering the three major pathogens involved in cattle pinkeye cases - ideally given in the spring
- scour vaccine - covering the most common pathogens we culture from young calves with scours - designed for use in cows in late second and early third stage of pregnancy.
- These implants are administered under the skin in the neck of the animal as a normal vaccine would be.
These implants have been created from the strains of these pathogens found in our practice area of Southwest Missouri. There are often significant differences in pathogens and strains of pathogens depending on your area of the country. If you are outside our normal practice area you should consult your local vet(who can contact Cambridge Technologies) to discuss this product in your area!
