✅ Potty Trained
✅ Good with Dogs
✅ Kennel Trained

Say hello to Fifi! She came in as a transfer from another shelter. Here's what her friends at the previous shelter had to say about her:

"Fifi is a sweet, friendly girl who's ready for her fur-ever home. She's sadly spent the last two years in boarding, but she's still loving, social, and full of joy. She is potty trained and kennel trained, enjoys car rides, walks, and toys, and truly loves people. Fifi does well with other dogs and would love a dog sibling to play with. After waiting far too long, Fifi is ready to finally be part of your family." While Fifi has done well with dogs in the past she cannot live with any feline friends. This sweet girl has waited quite some time for her happily ever after; speak to a matchmaker to meet her today!

We had 134 animals join their forever homes last week: 56 cats, 59 dogs, 7 rabbits, 6 ferrets, 2 parakeets, and 4 chickens.

Salt (in the middle) came to our Shelter Medical Center suffering from vomiting and diarrhea. We put him on a prescription gastrointestinal diet and saw huge improvements! Salt was on our adoption floor for almost a month, because at nearly 12 years old, he knew exactly what he was looking for and it was a particular type of home. He preferred a home with no young children and one that understood he wanted affection on his own terms. Because of this, it took a bit longer to find a perfectly matched home. But last week, all of the waiting paid off!

Congratulations to all the animals who were adopted, and a big thank you to the families who brought them home. If you’re wanting to add a new best friend to your life, check out our adoptable animals by visiting our website: https://bit.ly/AdoptIHS

Meet our 2026 Humane Education Team: Naiya, Nikki, Lynette, Kristen, and Megan — passionate teachers and advocates for animals who are excited to inspire the next generation of compassionate pet lovers. The three pets at the top of the picture are examples of animal ambassadors that will be in their classroom!

Our Humane Education Camps are designed for a variety of ages and focus on teaching kindness, responsibility, humane pet care, and safety around animals. Through hands-on activities and interactive learning, campers will explore the importance of humane pet care, animal safety, and the bond between people and animals.

Participants will learn practical ways to enrich the lives of pets at home and in their community while discovering how enrichment activities help reduce stress, prevent boredom, and create happier, healthier lives for our furry friends. Campers will also build friendships, teamwork skills, and compassion toward both animals and people.

Whether your child loves animals, wants to learn more about pet care, or is interested in animal welfare, our camps offer a fun and meaningful experience.

Say hello to Elmer! He is our longest term dog, having been on the adoption floor for a little over a month. Elmer was a tad shy when he first came into our care as a stray, but has since opened up and is quite the social and friendly guy!

We've learned that Elmer is a very affectionate and loyal boy who loves nothing more than hanging out with his humans. He walks well on leash and is very gentle. He also knows "sit" which he will eagerly do for a yummy treat. Elmer also loves to play with plushy toy and get belly rubs!

Elmer needs a home with no kids under 12, and he will need to meet them prior to adoption. In addition, he needs to meet any dogs in the home to ensure they're a good fit before going home.

He would love to be your new adventure buddy! Come meet him today or read more: https://idahohumanesociety.org/adopt/pets-details/?aid=60735561&cid=41&tid=Dog

This happy guy is Rufus! He is a sweet, friendly pup who loves meeting new people and can’t wait to meet you!

Rufus is deaf, so he’ll need a little extra TLC and patience from his future family, but living with a deaf dog is often easier than people think. Deaf dogs learn through hand signals, routines, and positive reinforcement, and they form incredibly strong bonds with their people. Rufus is treat motivated, loves toys, and enjoys going on nice walks, which will make training and communication fun and rewarding.

Rufus would do best as the only dog in the home, where he can soak up all the love and attention for himself. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a huge heart, Rufus may be your perfect match. Come meet him today!

This adorable little lady is Jasmine. She came to our Shelter Medical Center as a 10-year-old stray in need of extensive medical care and a second chance. During her four months with us, she was treated for a urinary tract infection, significant dental disease, chronic kidney disease (Stage 2 CKD), and a front limb injury involving a partially dislocated joint that required 8 weeks in a specialized cast. She was also suspected to be deaf or significantly hearing impaired.

Jasmine also underwent surgery to remove multiple mammary masses. Thankfully, the largest mass was confirmed to be a benign and was fully removed with clean surgical margins. She also had several benign skin tags and wart-like growths commonly seen in senior pets.

After spending time soaking up all the love and healing in a loving foster home, Jasmine made her debut on the adoption floor — and was adopted into her forever home just one day later! After everything she had been through, we are so happy this sweet senior girl finally got the happily ever after she deserved.
