Our very first BIG DOG WALK CLUB 🥳🐾 A huge thank you to all the big dogs and their humans who walked with us today!

It was everything we hoped it would be.

Big dogs.
Good people.
Great conversation.
A whole lot of slobber.
And a community of people who just get it.

One of the coolest parts was seeing dogs of all personalities and comfort levels show up and succeed. Some walked confidently in the middle of the pack. Some needed a little extra space. Some came just to observe and take it all in.

And that’s exactly the point.

No pressure. No judgment. Just people helping their dogs build confidence one walk at a time.

Thank you to everyone who came out, shared stories, advocated for their dogs, and helped make this such a welcoming experience.

This already feels like something special, and we’re just getting started.

We’ve always believed that big dogs deserve a community built just for them.

That’s why we’re so excited to launch the BIG DOG WALK CLUB - a monthly meetup for giant and large breed dogs and the people who love them!

Think coffee, donuts, a relaxed group walk, and a chance to connect with other big dog parents who truly understand life with a 100+ pound best friend.

We’ll also be bringing in occasional guest speakers to share practical tips on big dog health and wellness, so you and your pup leave having learned something new.

Whether you have (or are curious about) a Great Dane, Mastiff, Newfoundland, Saint Bernard, Irish Wolfhound, or any oversized sidekick, you’re invited.

Our first walk is coming up TOMORROW, May 30th. 🗓

Hi, we’re Sarah and Jared - the people behind The Big Damn Dog Co. 👋

This company started because of our Great Dane, Lucy, and one very frustrating realization:

The pet industry wasn’t really built for giant breed dogs.

Most products are designed for the “average” dog and simply scaled up. But giant breeds are different.

Different joint stress.
Different health risks.
Different nutritional needs.
Different lifespans.

And yet somehow, big dog owners are often left piecing things together on their own.

So we decided to build the company we wished existed.

A company dedicated entirely to giant breed dogs and the people who love them.

Everything we create comes back to one mission:

Helping big dogs live more, better years.

One of the most freeing things you can realize as a dog owner is this: your dog does not owe anyone a greeting.

Not every dog wants to say hello.
Not every dog enjoys being approached.
And not every interaction is worth the risk.

There is a lot of pressure on dog owners to create a “social” dog, but true confidence is not measured by how many dogs they meet.

It is measured by how calmly they can move through the world.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is keep walking.

A great veterinarian will welcome thoughtful questions.

You are allowed to ask why.
You are allowed to ask about alternatives.
You are allowed to say, “I need time to think about this.”

Advocating for your dog does not make you difficult. It makes you a responsible dog parent.

And if you have a giant breed, this matters even more.

Many veterinarians are excellent clinicians, but not all have extensive experience with the unique needs of dogs that weigh 100 to 200+ pounds. Giant breeds age differently, face different health risks, and often benefit from a more specialized approach to care.

No one knows your dog better than you do.

Trust your gut.
Ask better questions.
Keep learning.
Keep pushing for better.

Because our dogs depend on us to make informed decisions on their behalf. ❤️🐾
