Good morning friends! Just a reminder that today is the FINAL day to register for the Juniper Fire Junior Rodeo! If you' haven't already registered do so here!

What is the Juniper Fire? This is an opportunity for even those that haven't had the experience of rodeo to have the opportunity to ride and compete in this amazing sport! Come out and support these hard working athletes as they demonstrate what they've been learning and training for!

Just a reminder that our start times are subject to change depending on weather. Our current schedule is:

9am - Opening Ceremony

Novice Riders will start right after the opening ceremony! Please be on time so you don't get skipped! Following our novice group there will be a demonstration by Boise County's very own drill team: "God and Country Drill Team". The novice group will have their own award ceremony following the demonstration.

Junior Rodeo Event will commence after the Novice Award ceremony kicking off with our Goat flanking/tying events. Day Sheets will be out after the registration closes tomorrow. See you all September 12th at 9am at the Idaho City - Jim Haswell Arena!

Hey friends! We have to cancel our Junior Rodeo Club event this Friday due to a conflict with the horses annual dental appointments! So sorry! I hope we see you at the next one! :)

Good afternoon friends! It's that time of year! Registration is open for our 4th annual Juniper Fire Junior Rodeo. We will have Registration open only until the end of August! So, sign up as soon as you can! We have opportunities for riders of all ages and skill levels! If you do not have your own horse and are needing to borrow a horse we ask that you have participated in either group or individual lessons or have attended some of our Junior Rodeo Camp events (message us for details!)!

If you're wondering which group to sign up for here's the breakdown!

The novice age group is for anyone that is still learning- and for people who need to borrow a horse (unless other arrangements have been made) events will be:

Goat Tail Untying (where you have to hop off your horse and untie a ribbon from the tail of a goat)
Figure 8's (This is a speed event where you preform a figure 8 around the poles)
Barrel Racing (The traditional cloverleaf pattern)

PeeWee Rodeo Events will be:
Goat Flanking
Pole Bending
Barrel Racing

Girls Junior/Senior Rodeo Events will be:
Goat Flanking
Pole Bending
Barrel Racing

Boys Junior/Senior Rodeo Events will be:
Goat Flanking
Steer Daubing
Steer Roping

Adult Events are open this year! If you sign up, you will be assigned to either male or female groups... if you're in the men's group your events will be the same as the boys events above, and girls will be the same as the Junior/Senior girls events!

We will have two exhibition events available at the end of the event as well - Team Roping and Breakaway Roping - these are BUCKLED events where fastest time wins! If you are interested in signing up for those events they are separate!

***NOTE ALL STEER EVENTS ARE DONE WITH A MECHANICAL STEER***

First Rodeo Adventure Camp for 2026 in the books and was a raging success!! Huge thank you to all the hard workers that made it possible!!

Good morning friends!! We have a fun and exciting update!! September 12th happens to also fall on the weekend of the Pony Express Races at Cowboy Campground At Legacy Park, Idaho City ID! That means that there will be double the equine excitement and fun to be had all weekend long!

If you haven't been a part of the Pony Express Races these are a real blast! Team opportunities as well as individual events and buckles and prizes to be won!

This also means there will be the Cowboy Breakfast in the mornings for only $10 with funds benefiting the Cowboy Campground, and we're hoping to get our favorite taco truck back up there for lunch!

What this means for us? If you're planning to camp - reserve your space early!! And by early I mean ASAP! The horse camping spaces will fill up SUPER fast! Also plan to stay through Sunday if you can! You won't regret being part of both events! Sabrina is trying to figure out getting a buckle added for the Juniper Fire kiddos for their Saturday Trail Course so the kids can easily be part of the rodeo and the trail event for the Pony Express! We are so grateful for those amazing horse friends we have up there in Idaho City!
