Many of my clients have contacted me saying, "You know you don't HAVE to stay in the home 24/7, you can leave (pets name) alone for a couple of hours, they will be fine."
It's almost amusing as I explain: Thank you, I appreciate that very much and while I may need to leave for an hour or so during my stay; I don't have a social life, and I really don't enjoy going out much unless it's a family event... I am a true home-body and introvert. I enjoy naps, reading books for hours, watching TV (if you have streaming services, eg; Netflix, Hulu, etc, I prefer to create a guest account so our watch history doesn't get mixed up.)
My pet-sitting IS my life! I've grown up with dogs and other pets my entire life and generally enjoy the company of animals to people sometimes.
I always say I am a very old boring person in the body of a 33 year old.
Give me a good book, a quiet house, a nice cup of tea and a cozy blanket and I will relax the day away with no regrets 😇
I appreciate every one of you who communicate that I can, in fact, have a life and still stay in your homes with your fur babies!
My clients and their pets become family to me 🥰
On that note: I try and schedule appointments around my work, but sometimes I do need to leave the house for appointments like my allergy shots, or a relatively quick doctor appointment.
I will make every effort to inform you if there are any appointments I am prepared for during my stay.
Let's communicate about the safety and comfort of your pet(s), can the dog be left outside in the backyard during that time? Do they have ample shade, water, and the resources they need for the weather? Will the neighbors complain about barking?
Are they kennel trained or are there certain rooms you want me to close if the pet stays in the house?
Communication is key!
No one knows your pet as well as you do and I make it my mission to love and care for them as you do! 🐾♥️
