Gunner showed up for his acupuncture + laser therapy session with Dr. Levendoski looking bad to the bone! 😎🐾

At 13 years old, this sweet black lab is getting a little extra support to stay comfortable, mobile, and feeling his best. His stylish shades are called “Doggles” and yes, he absolutely knows he looks cool. 😂

Laser therapy is a non-invasive treatment used to help reduce pain, inflammation, and stiffness while supporting healing and mobility in senior pets and patients recovering from injury or surgery. 💚

Throwback to one of our more iconic patients. 🦅

This bald eagle from The Peregrine Fund World Center for Birds of Prey is saying “ahh” for Dr. Linenberger. Seeing these amazing animals up close never stops feeling surreal.

A few things you may not know about bald eagles:
🦅 Bald eagles weren’t officially declared the United States’ national bird until 2024
🦅 Their grip strength can exceed 400 PSI
🦅 They build some of the largest nests of any North American bird
🦅 Their iconic white head and tail feathers don’t fully develop until adulthood

We’re always grateful for the opportunity to support the teams caring for these incredible birds. 💚

Warm weather in the Wood River Valley means more trail time, more river walks, and more outdoor adventures with our dogs. It also means tick season is back. 🕷️

In this month’s Pet Perspective, Dr. Maleki explains why ticks are especially active this year, where they tend to thrive, and how simple prevention habits can make a big difference for both pets and people.

It’s thoughtful, practical information for anyone spending time outside this spring.

Please make sure you check your pets thoroughly after outdoor activities and try to avoid dry patches of this gnarly plant! 🌱

If you suspect that your pet has a Cheat Grass stuck anywhere on their body, please reach out, and our staff would be happy to help! 🩺🐾

Some bonds are built over years. 💚

The photo on the left was taken nearly 10 years ago, long before Aubree worked at Habitat. When she joined our team years later, one of the sweetest surprises was seeing a very familiar face walk through the door again. 🐾

Rumble may have a little more gray around the muzzle these days, but some friendships never really change.

Honestly, we think growing up alongside our patients is one of the most special parts of veterinary medicine. 🫶

Not your average backyard hangout. ☀️

Smoke, a 14-year-old German Wirehaired Pointer, spent part of her afternoon relaxing outside with Dr. Peters while receiving electroacupuncture for suspected myositis-related facial muscle atrophy and osteoarthritis support.

Acupuncture in veterinary medicine is used to help stimulate nerves, improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and support muscle function. Electroacupuncture adds tiny controlled electrical pulses between specific needles to provide additional targeted nerve and muscle stimulation.

In Smoke’s case, treatment was focused on supporting the muscles and nerve pathways involved in facial strength and chewing, while also helping with overall comfort and mobility.

We think healing in the sunshine with a comfy bed and extra attention sounds pretty nice, too. 💚🐾
