🦎 Happy National Reptile Day! 🐍

Today we're celebrating our scaly, slithery, and shelled patients! 🐢

Reptiles make fascinating pets, but they have very specific needs. The right habitat, diet, and vet care can add years to their lives.

Quick care tips for your reptile:
🌡️ Check temperature and humidity daily. Wrong levels are a top cause of illness.
💡 Replace UV bulbs on schedule, even if they still light up. They lose strength over time.
🥬 Feed a diet that fits your species. A bearded dragon's needs are very different from a ball python's.
🩺 Schedule a yearly wellness exam. Reptiles hide illness well, so problems are often advanced by the time you notice.

This past weekend Dr. Norman and Practice Manager Ashley were guest judges for the Star Pet Fair - At Waggin’ Tails Dog Park ! This is a fundraiser for an amazing organization Hand & Paw - Pet Food Pantry

Hand And Paw is a locally run nonprofit that’s mission is to keep pets in their homes! They offer services such as a monthly pet food pantry and special grants for emergency veterinary care. Give them a follow and support!

🐾 National Pet Obesity Awareness Day! 🐾

Did you know that more than half of dogs and cats in the U.S. are overweight or obese? Extra pounds can lead to diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, and a shorter lifespan. The good news is that it's preventable! 💪

Not sure if your pet is at a healthy weight? Try the quick check:
✅ Can you feel their ribs without pressing hard?
✅ Do they have a visible waistline when viewed from above?
✅ Is their belly tucked up when viewed from the side?

If you answered no to any of these, it's time to chat with us! 🩺

Small changes make a big difference:
🥣 Measure meals instead of eyeballing them
🦴 Swap high-calorie treats for veggies like carrots or green beans

Black dogs are often the last to be adopted, but they're every bit as loving, loyal, and goofy as any other pup. Whether you've got a Lab, a Schnauzer, a Rottie, or a lovable mutt, your black dog deserves some extra love today.

Melrose came in to us very sick, and after an initial assessment and testing was diagnosed with Parvovirus. Parvo is a very serious virus that attacks a dog’s entire immune system and can be fatal. Melrose was hospitalized for supportive care, and also treated with a new Monoclonal Antibody therapy that works to neutralize the virus.
After a short stay in our hospital, she was feeling well enough to return home to continue her recovery. When she came in for her recheck she was fully of puppy wiggles and kisses!
