One of my favorite exercises for waking up a horse’s nervous system is Zig Zag Poles. The goal is proprioceptive activity, meaning your horse has to constantly adjust his balance and stride to navigate variable gaps between poles. I call it nervous system training, and it works.

Set up your poles with different widths at each point of the zig zag, and experiment with raising some poles or leaving them flat. There’s no one right way, the variation is the work.

This exercise is one of 55 in my book 55 Corrective Exercises for Horses, available on my website. If you don’t have a copy yet, grab one. Your horse will thank you.

A big shout out to Jacquelynn Holly and her Equine Jeweled Designs biz. I love each of these keepsakes she made for me so I always have Tucker close to me.❤️ I am amazed to see how varied in colors my “solid sorrel” boy was! The blond was his fetlock hair, the red his mane and the darker his tail. Love and miss you Tucker! It’s been a year without you already and life isn’t the same.

This information is designed to help horse owners understand the safe and responsible use of SGLT2 inhibitors, a new treatment option for managing hyperinsulinemia in horses. Dr. Sundra explains how these medications work, what they do to support horses with conditions like laminitis, when they may be appropriate, and why careful use is essential. Such a sweet client horse. Enjoying a BEMER pemf session just before his Masterson Method session. I have added the BEMER to my toolkit and love using pemf therapy to help horses. It's a great addition to all the benefits that Masterson Method work provides! Reach out if you would like your horse to experience this one-two punch to body tension and inflammation. Owner commented on how smooth his lope was on the next ride after the session - love it!!

Had a great Masterson The Masterson Method, Integrated Equine Performance Bodywork session with my mustang friend Cleo this week. I've worked with her on a regular basis for awhile now and she has been a bit guarded and only showed me very subtle release signs though I feel improvements each time we work. Our session this week found a new level for her and there was deep processing and a lot of very obvious releases. This work always amazes me and I am fortunate to be a part of this process for the horses I work with. Thank you to Cleo and Tami George for a fun day! Reach out to Touch-n-Go if you would like your horse to experience the benefits of a Masterson Method bodywork session!
