Happy from Stromboli, our four-month-old grey tabby kitten! This gorgeous girl started out as a street rescue, but she has completely traded her outdoor life for cozy foster living in Dallas. Stromboli is famous in her foster home for her epic daily zoomies, her love of chasing string toys, and her remarkably loud purr engine.

Stromboli is an outgoing social butterfly who loves being around kids, dogs, and other cats, making her an easy fit for an active family home. She is fully litterbox trained and has an adorable habit of staring at you with her big eyes to see if you will share your snacks! While she loves cuddling up for naps, like many kittens she prefers keeping all four paws on the floor rather than being picked up.

Dobby is a brilliant working breed mix who has already completed formal training, meaning he comes housebroken, responsive, and ready to listen. If you have a backyard and a tennis ball, Buster is ready to be your new best friend! This compact 38-pound Lab mix came to Abandoned Pet Project as a tiny 3-month-old puppy, and while his littermates were adopted years ago, Buster is still waiting for his turn. Despite growing up in rescue, his joyful, athletic spirit remains completely untouched.

Buster loves running in the yard, tracking down toys, and showing off his fetch skills. He is a sensitive boy who appreciates a quiet, adult-only home where he can take his time settling in and building trust. Once he knows he is safe with you, he trades his high-energy play for cozy snuggles and endless puppy kisses.

Every single week that Dobby and Buster spend in commercial boarding facilities drains vital rescue funds from our non-profit. Fostering a dog directly eliminates those monthly boarding fees, allowing us to redirect thousands of dollars back toward life-saving surgeries and emergency rescue pulls across the Dallas/DFW area.

Labor Day weekend barbecues and gatherings are right around the corner in Dallas/DFW, making it a great time to double-check household pet safety. Outdoor grills, scrap plates with cooked bones, and yard gates left open by guests are common hazards for curious dogs and cats.

Keep aluminum foil, skewers, and fatty foods far out of reach, as ingestions can cause painful stomach blockages or pancreatitis. Bernie is enjoying life in a foster home while she waits for an adopter, while Dobby and Buster are urgently looking for foster or adoptive homes to get out of boarding. Maxine is living proof that good things come in small packages! This adorable two-year-old Tabby girl is pocket-sized, super soft, and completely gentle in everything she does. She is currently in a foster home, where she enjoys finding cozy spots on soft blankets and watching the world go by.
Maxine can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but once she trusts you, she turns into a purring, head-booping machine! She loves chin scratches and soft petting, making her a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a sweet, low-maintenance cat. Maxine’s standard $100 adoption fee goes directly back into helping us rescue more feline friends in DFW.
