The beast made it home to Colorado!Special thank you to my very good friend Matt Davidson for trusting me with such a beautiful Elk. Matt could have taken him to anyone but he loaded up this beast and drove from Montana all the way down, non-stop, to me in Boerne, Texas. Matt always said if he ever harvested a mountable Elk I would be the one doing the mount. He held true to his word. Thank you, again, Matt and thank you for our friendship.
365 gross, 362 net. Harvested with a bow at 70 yards and this is the kicker, on public land!

I’ve been doing taxidermy for a long time and have never had a customer react to a completed project like Erik Saenz. OMG! To be honest, there are many times a customer will pick up, say almost nothing and exit as quickly as they entered. No reaction, no “that looks good”,
no “that looks terrible”, no nothing, nada, zippo… Leaving me with doubt and asking myself “man, did they even like it?” to later getting a great review from that very same customer. I have learned, not only in a 30 year insurance career AND now in my taxidermy career, all people are different. All people definitely respond in different ways but Erik’s response was absolutely one I’ve never had the pleasure to witness in person. It was the absolute best reaction I could have ever wished for. So, THANK YOU Erik for your unforgettable reaction and trust in me with such a beautiful Bobcat. Here’s to decades of enjoyment!
