Getting bit is part of the job nobody talks about.
This bite happened while breaking up a fight between two powerful working K9s. Before anyone asks—no, my advice is not to jump into every dog fight. In fact, for most people, that’s the last thing I would recommend.
But when you’ve spent years handling dogs, reading behavior, understanding pressure, and working with serious working dogs, sometimes you have to make a decision in a split second. When one dog has the potential to seriously injure or kill another, standing back isn’t always an option.
The bite will heal.
The dogs are okay.
And tomorrow we’ll be right back to work.

The best dog training school in the world isn’t always a classroom. It’s experience.

If you’re an aspiring dog trainer, my biggest piece of advice is simple:

Get your hands on as many leashes as possible.

Volunteer at your local shelter. Walk dogs. Work with different breeds, different personalities, different energy levels, and different behavioral challenges.

Every dog teaches you something.

You’ll learn how to communicate. You’ll learn timing. You’ll learn how to read body language. You’ll learn what works, what doesn’t, and most importantly, how to adapt to the dog in front of you.

The truth is, 90% of what I’ve learned came from working dogs—not sitting in a classroom. I educated myself, learned from anyone willing to share knowledge, and I still learn something new every day.

The dogs are the teachers. The leash is the classroom.

K9 Tilly goes home today after crushing her Puppy Boot Camp 🎀🐾

From major potty-training success to mastering all the basics, Tilly made huge progress during her stay with us. She worked through leash handling, confidence building, proper socialization around people, dogs, and kids, and learned how to stay calm and focused in new environments.
