What’s the very first thing I teach a puppy?

COOPERATION

But before we can teach it, we have to define it.

To us, cooperation is a dog’s WILLINGNESS to choose your guidance because doing so consistently leads to better outcomes than acting independently.

Notice one important word: willingness.

For cooperation to occur, there must be:

1. COMMUNICATION
2. TRUST
3. MUTUALLY understood consequences

This is why we don’t start with endless repetitions of “sit & place.”

We start by building a relationship where choosing to work together becomes the most rewarding option.

Because obedience is a behavior.

Cooperation is a mindset.

Time flies… it’s already been almost TWO weeks since our Happy Go Lucky pack visited a local nursing home. 🐾❤️

The smiles, laughter, wagging tails, and pure joy our dogs brought to the residents was something we’ll never forget.

And guess what? They’ve already asked when we’re coming back. 🥹

So… who wants to join us next time?

If you’re one of our clients and would love to bring your dog along to spread some smiles, we’d LOVE to have you!

👇 Comment “ME” below and we’ll make sure you’re invited to our next nursing home visit!

Happy Go Lucky Friday. 🐾

Where muddy paws become good manners.
Where confidence grows one adventure at a time.
Where play has a purpose.
Where training doesn’t stop when the leash comes off.

Every walk, every game, every new experience is building a dog that’s calmer, more confident, and happier to be part of your world.

Let’s make it a great Friday…
one wag at a time. 🐶💛

Today was Gino’s 6th session at Happy Go Lucky and look at the progress he’s made! He went from being so unsure he didn’t want to come out of his crate. After a few days here with us at Happy Go Lucky, he’s a brand new dog with a new outlook on life! We couldn’t be more proud of Gino!

Heel isn’t about keeping your dog glued to your leg-it’s about teaching them that staying connected with you is rewarding.✨
At just 6 months old, Sarabi is building the foundation through consistency, patience, and clear communication. 💪

The goal should NOT be to teach your puppy obedience! ✨

The goal should be to teach your puppy to be bold and confident, willing to do things with you and then integrate learning as part of that bigger picture. 🐾

This allows the dog to generalize 1 important lifelong concept:
Access to things the dog wants comes through cooperation and compliance. 😎💛

Harley is running with the pack! 🚴🐾
One of the best ways to help a new dog settle into training is by letting them learn from experienced mentor dogs. Dogs naturally observe and mimic one another, so when a puppy joins a calm, confident pack, they quickly start picking up good habits.
On a bike run, the mentor dogs show the new pup how to stay focused, move as a team, ignore distractions, and enjoy the adventure in a balanced way. It’s not just about exercise-it’s about building confidence, practicing good behavior in the real world, and creating positive experiences together. 💛✨

A fulfilled dog doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because of you. 🐾

Training is only part of the equation. It’s your responsibility to keep your dog mentally engaged, physically active, and experiencing the world. Walks, play, adventures, and practicing what they’ve learned all build confidence, reduce unwanted behaviors, and strengthen your relationship.

A tired dog isn’t always a fulfilled dog. An engaged dog is.
