Lily the Malinois 🐾
We recently pulled Lily from Riverside County Animal Services. She came from the shelter with kennel cough and Giardia. She’s on medication and making a steady recovery.
Lily is not only beautiful. She’s incredibly intelligent, a big cuddler, loves to go on her walks, food motivated and she recently learned what toys are and absolutely loves them!
If you’re interested in seeing her training behind the scenes check out our subscribers only here on Instagram. More to come. You won’t want to miss it!

From rescue to K9 🐾
Every dog we’ve rescued whether it was from the streets, from unsuitable homes, or from the overwhelmed shelter system this is for you. For every one of our dogs who waited months for a foster or forever home and for those we couldn’t save, this is for you.
One of our rescue dogs, Ace (FKA Steve-O) has embarked on a journey to become a community focused K9. This journey is beginning with foundational obedience through the Prison Program and will then move towards community outreach and scent work development. This special opportunity will take Ace all the way to Rayville, Louisiana and we need your help to make it happen.
We are having a 1 month fundraiser to help us cover the costs associated with this project.
We are not fundraising for just another dog. We are fundraising for the ones that were looked past and didn’t get the chance they deserved. We are fundraising for an opportunity to do more than what we already are.
Ace is part of a litter who although had a lot of social media attention, didn’t gather much support.
Ace requires continued vetting, training, food and supplies. He will also require continued transports while doing community outreach and scent work development. In addition, Ace will require custom gear and a badge and finally, transport to Rayville, Louisiana.
Your support will not only help Ace become a community focused K9 but it will assist the community of Rayville in ways they have never seen before.
To make a tax deductible contribution and be part of Ace’s journey to becoming a K9 please visit this Instagram fundraiser or our website at malshouserescue.org/donate
We thank you for your consideration and hope you follow along to watch this special opportunity unfold.
Thank you .pawsh.designs for the flyer 🐾

We receive endless pleas on all platforms. Asking us to take this dog and that dog.
What people don’t understand is that we need short term fosters to medically clear dogs before they go into the Firehouse or Prison programs.
And even then, we don’t have unlimited space there. Last year we begged &begged for fosters and funding to be able to provide every available handler with a dog.
But not enough people stepped up.
The county took over and now we only have a select few handlers for Mals House at the Prison and a few others at the Firehouse.
We can only responsibly rescue if we have space. Right now the Jackass Litter and Day Day is taking up all the slots at prison. Kamir and Forest are taking up the spots at the Firehouse. Once dogs go to their adopters, there will be space. But guess what? We have Lily, Dragon and Iris in foster homes and they will take up the next three open spots.
We are rescuing a dog this week. A dog that has been patiently waiting for a foster home to say yes. It finally happened and we’re so grateful.
We have two foster applicants that can only foster a male pup each. So guess what our next two rescues are most likely going to look like? UNLESS we get fosters that are open to any dog.
Every second chance also requires funding and resources.
We’re going through more food, treats, dog beds and supplies than ever.
If you’ve ever thought about helping here is how:
⭐️ Fill out a foster application. All of our fosters are supported the entire way. We provide safe crates, toys, treats, food, the medical care and vetting, the transport and the guidance.
⭐️ Donate via our Amazon wishlist. Every donation on our wishlist makes a huge difference. Our biggest need right now is food, wire crates, and dog beds.
⭐️ Share our mission. Our small but mighty team is working harder than ever to ensure every dog is taken care of and paired with the best possible home. Every share helps us help them.
If you made it this far, thank you for reading.

Mr. Forest had his sutures removed from FHO surgery. His handler has done an amazing job recovering his first medical dog. Here he is speaking on his experience and on Forest.
Please share Forest far and wide to find him the family he deserves. We rescued Forest after he had been roaming in Forest Falls for months. He was emaciated, had been hit by a car and had a deep laceration on the other leg. He required laceration repair on one leg and FHO surgery on the other. It’s been a long recovery but Forest has always come up on top.
Forest is incredibly sweet and loyal, loves to hang out, and has done well with his canine buddies at the firehouse with proper introductions and regulated play.
Forest would love a lowkey home where he can lounge around, go on walks and finally have a place to call his own. Forest will be able to go home after he’s fully recovered and has gone through foundational obedience. Adopters are encourage to apply now to start the adoption process.
If interested please visit malshouserescue.org/applications
One of our adoption coordinators will be in touch to set up the first interview.
Can’t adopt? You can still help!
Please share Forest far and wide. Or consider donating to keep the programs running.

All of our dogs at the Prison and Firehouse programs are doing amazing 🤩
It’s a beautiful sight when all of the Mals House handlers continue to work together to care and train our dogs.
We continue to visit the prison and firehouse to continue the rapport with both handlers and staff and also to aid in training.
This has required a lot of driving/fuel and continued food, supplies, supplements and continued vetting/vet visits. Even when dogs are adopted we as the rescue are still responsible for the vetting, training, food, treats and supplies.
On this Five Dollar Friday we’re asking our community to help us keep these programs running.
They’re clearly working. Our dogs are medically cleared, vetted, receiving foundational obedience through the programs and finding suitable homes. Most are out of state and one even made it out of the country!
$5 goes a long way for our small but mighty rescue. Can you help keep these programs running?

Today we got word of this puppy who had a small injury and has no vaccinations.
Her name is Joedy and she and her owner are living on the streets. We are going to help with the cost of taking her to the vet to get vaxcinated . The last thing anyone needs is a dog with parvo.
They are also in need of a wagon. We know the community is often divided on unhoused people and their pets. But if you’ve followed long enough, you know we have helped so many unhoused folks and their dogs before. Some of them have been able to finally get off the streets and onto better lives with extended family or other housing opportunities. Any difference we can make no matter how small, can mean everything to someone.
We will cover the vet care. Can anyone out there help with the wagon?
The wishlist link is in our stories for the next 24 hours. It’ll be in the comments if you’re viewing this on Facebook.
We know times are tough for everyone. We know many can’t help right now as donations are slower than ever. So we thank you for the consideration.
