We receive endless pleas on all platforms. Asking us to take this dog and that dog.
What people don’t understand is that we need short term fosters to medically clear dogs before they go into the Firehouse or Prison programs.
And even then, we don’t have unlimited space there. Last year we begged &begged for fosters and funding to be able to provide every available handler with a dog.
But not enough people stepped up.
The county took over and now we only have a select few handlers for Mals House at the Prison and a few others at the Firehouse.
We can only responsibly rescue if we have space. Right now the Jackass Litter and Day Day is taking up all the slots at prison. Kamir and Forest are taking up the spots at the Firehouse. Once dogs go to their adopters, there will be space. But guess what? We have Lily, Dragon and Iris in foster homes and they will take up the next three open spots.
We are rescuing a dog this week. A dog that has been patiently waiting for a foster home to say yes. It finally happened and we’re so grateful.
We have two foster applicants that can only foster a male pup each. So guess what our next two rescues are most likely going to look like? UNLESS we get fosters that are open to any dog.
Every second chance also requires funding and resources.
We’re going through more food, treats, dog beds and supplies than ever.
If you’ve ever thought about helping here is how:
⭐️ Fill out a foster application. All of our fosters are supported the entire way. We provide safe crates, toys, treats, food, the medical care and vetting, the transport and the guidance.
⭐️ Donate via our Amazon wishlist. Every donation on our wishlist makes a huge difference. Our biggest need right now is food, wire crates, and dog beds.
⭐️ Share our mission. Our small but mighty team is working harder than ever to ensure every dog is taken care of and paired with the best possible home. Every share helps us help them.
