PRE-SEASON BIRD DOG TUNE-UP

ATTENTION BIRD HUNTERS — IS YOUR DOG READY FOR BIRD SEASON?

Before the first hunt, give your dog the preparation he needs to perform at his best.

Crosscountry Kennels is offering a special Pre-Season Bird Dog Tune-Up Program, beginning October 1st.

The program includes:

• Conditioning — getting your dog physically ready for the demands of hunting season
• Yard Work — reinforcing handling, obedience and responsiveness
• Bird Work — putting the dog back in the rhythm of finding and handling birds

Whether your dog needs a tune-up, needs to get back in shape, or simply needs that final preparation before the season begins, this program is designed to get him ready to go.

- ROOM TO ROAM -

We believe dogs need more than a kennel run and a place to sleep.

At Crosscountry Kennels, our spacious and climate-controlled rural facility on 20 acres gives dogs room to move, settle, train, and experience new environments throughout their stay.

(That matters whether they’re here for boarding or a full training program.)

🐕 For training dogs, ample space gives us more ways to work. We can build confidence through field exposure, introduce new sights and sounds, work around horses and other dogs, and help each dog learn how to stay responsive outside of a perfectly controlled setting.

🐶 For boarding dogs, it means their time away from home is active, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable. They get space to play and socialize, burn energy, and settle into a healthy routine while they’re in our care.

That’s the difference a rural and spacious boarding and training facility can make.

Week #5 was cooler, with some much-needed rain—and our first rain-out day as far as running dogs goes! 🌧️🐾

But that definitely doesn’t mean we got a day off. 😝 What even is a day off around here?

A rain-out just means more time for yard work with the dogs and catching up on all the other things that keep everyone healthy and happy—trimming nails, extra cleaning, individual care, and all those little things that are part of keeping camp running smoothly.

The cooler weather and rain were certainly welcome, and we’ll take the moisture whenever we can get it! 💜🐾

- MEET THE BREEDER -
Randy Anderson is Crosscountry Malinois’ Owner, Breeder, and Lead Professional Dog Trainer. He oversees every pairing, puppy placement, and pre-adoption socialization and neurological stimulation.

“I’ve spent much of my life working with dogs, first through years of training and competing with bird dogs and later through breeding Belgian Malinois. That’s given me an instinctive understanding of how dogs develop—their temperament, drive, instincts, and what kind of handling brings out their best. Over the years, I’ve earned more than 1,000 placements, developed champions, won multiple Dog of the Year honors, and had two dogs inducted into the Field Trial Hall of Fame.

That experience shapes the way I approach my Malinois program today. I pay close attention to bloodlines, parent temperament, and the kind of litter a pairing is likely to produce, then give that litter the care and attention it needs to develop.

My goal at Crosscountry Malinois is to raise healthy, well-bred puppies that become exceptionally capable and loyal adult dogs—and place them in the right environments for their drive and temperament.
