Blue Grass Veterinary Hospital was opened by Dr. Joyce Werning in March 2012. Dr. Emily Jones Guy joined the team in October of 2018. Blue Grass Veterinary Hospital is a full service animal hospital seeing both emergency cases as well as less urgent medical, surgical, and dental issues as well as routine care. Dr. Joyce Werning and Dr. Jones Guy are experienced in all types of conditions and treat

ments. Beyond first rate pet care, we make our hospital comfortable, child-friendly, and a very calm environment so your pet can relax in the waiting room and look forward to meeting his or her own Blue Grass veterinarian. Sara is one of the friendly faces you see working the front desk, answering the phone, or assisting in the rooms with a rowdy patient. She is one of the most caring people you will ever meet and always has time to listen or love on your fur babies. Dr. Jones Guy would like to share the following:

"Dear clients and friends,

After almost eight years in Blue Grass, I will be leaving my position at Blue Grass Veterinary Hospital to relocate closer to my family in central Iowa. It has been the greatest privilege to care for you and your pets and I will always treasure the memories that were made here. It has been an honor to be there for you and your family from the happy puppy and kitten visits to helping them through illness and supporting you through difficult goodbyes. Although I am excited for this new chapter with my family, saying goodbye is bittersweet. I leave knowing you are in excellent hands with Dr. Werning and our amazing support staff. I wish you and all of your furry family members many happy, healthy years ahead.

Her last day will be Friday, July 31st. Please be patient with Dr. Werning and staff as we do our best to continue to serve as many patients and families as possible while we search for a new associate veterinarian.
