If your pet was spayed/neutered or had a microchip implanted at our hospital, please look into registering their microchip through another company. The microchip company we have used for years shut down abruptly and without notice. This created a situation completely unforeseen and out of our control. Freepetchipregistry.com is a website that allows you to register microchips at no cost and is recognizable by the AAHA microchip lookup tool.

By now you may have seen some information on Facebook about the microchip company “Save this Life”.

For many years, we have implanted Save This Life (STL) microchips in pets, as they provided a reliable and easy-to-use pet identification system. However, we recently discovered that STL appears to be no longer in operation. This raises concerns about the ability to recover lost pets using this system.

At this time, very little confirmed information is available about STL’s closure. We do not know if another company may acquire STL or restore its microchip lookup system. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as we learn more.

To prevent any future issues, we have immediately switched to a new microchip provider, PetLink, for all new microchip implants at BVH. We are committed to ensuring all pets have secure and traceable microchips, and we deeply regret any inconvenience this situation may cause.

It's been while since we've posted here, so I wanted to give everyone an update on what we've been up to! We started this business in May and it has been growing since, we are so thankful for everyone that has helped us along the way.

In June, I competed with Cash at our first Dock Dog competition at Hog's Hollow in Berwick. Cash did incredibly well for his first ever competition and placed first in the Junior division. Since then, we've been to several more competitions-Tales and Ales in Mt Joy, PA, the Kipona Festival in Harrisburg, PA, Bark on the Boards in Rehoboth Beach DE, and Sunfest at Ocean City, Maryland. Cash has managed to place at just about every competition and now has a personal best of 22' 10". We look forward to the upcoming dock diving season!

With Cash's great personality and success, I decided to get another Border Collie in July. Her name is River and she also loves to swim. My plan is to get her competing in dock diving this season too. Although she has given me a run for my money and being a complete opposite of Cash, I still love her.

That brings us to the end of the year. I had wrist surgery in November which had me away from pet sitting for a little. River had her spay surgery a week after mine as well. I took the dogs to see Christmas lights, which they loved. They also had Santa pictures done at the Bloom Vet. I cannot wait to see what the next year brings!

This past week, we had a bath and nails, drop in visit, and overnight care.
Max-This pug came back for his second bath and nail trim with us. We found out that he does best for his nail trim when Kylie sings to him. His brother, Jasper, will be joining us tonight for his bath and nails as well!
Louie-Kylie has been doing weekly drop-in visits to let Louie out to go to the bathroom while her mom is at work. This weekend we will both be spending the night with Louie while her family is away.
Milo, Nala, and Kora-Milo and Nala are both German Shepherds and Kora is a Belgian Malinois puppy. Kylie and I have both spent the past two nights with this group. These 3 are a high-energy dog breed and have training to keep them busy. They sure know how to keep you on your toes!
