Our friends at Monroe County Humane Association were heavily damaged by last night's severe weather. At present, the animals that were housed there are safe and sound. They will need tons of community support in the coming months; and once they figure out what they need, we will absolutely share and update. There is link on their website for monetary support if you're so inclined.

Bloomington needs MCHA and MCHA needs Bloomington.

We’ve been made aware of a cruel scam targeting pet parents who have lost or are missing a pet.

Scammers are using Google Voice and even phone numbers that appear to be associated with our organization. They claim they’ve found your pet, say the animal is injured and needs emergency surgery, and then **pressure you to send money immediately over the phone.

💙 Please know this:
Our officers and staff will NEVER call to ask for money. The Bloomington Animal Shelter does NOT request payment over the phone for the return or care of lost or injured pets.

If you receive a call like this, pause and verify. Hang up and contact us directly using our official phone number or email before taking any action.

This scam preys on fear, hope, and love for our animals, and spreading awareness helps protect our community. Please share this post so others don’t fall victim.
