Join AEC as we celebrate the addition of three new DVMs to our team with a complimentary continuing education event for credentialed personnel (CVTs and DVMs)

Topic: Cariology and Life-Threatening Arrhythmias
Guest Speaker: Dr. Nonya Fiakpui, Cardiologist

This session will provide practical guidance on the recognition, diagnosis, and management of life-threatening arrhythmias, offering valuable insights for everyday clinical practice.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to connect with fellow DVMs and veterinary professionals in the area!

If your pet needs urgent care, please contact the University of Illinois Veterinary Teaching Hospital at (217) 333-5300. They are open 24/7 and can assist with emergencies.

We know closures like this can be stressful and we appreciate your understanding. Normal AEC hours will resume tomorrow.

The Animal Emergency Clinic will remain closed tonight, Wednesday, August 6, due to a continued lack of veterinarian coverage.

We know how disruptive this is for families dealing with urgent medical concerns. We’re incredibly sorry for the gap in availability.

The clinic will reopen for regular overnight hours on Thursday, August 7.

The Animal Emergency Clinic will be closed tonight, Tuesday, August 5, due to not having a veterinarian available.

We understand this puts a lot of pressure on families needing emergency care. It's not a decision we take lightly.

We may also be closed Wednesday, August 6, depending on availability. We’ll post an update tomorrow to confirm either way.

In the meantime, if your pet needs urgent medical help, we recommend calling the University of Illinois Veterinary Teaching Hospital at 217-333-5300.

We won’t have a doctor available at the Animal Emergency Clinic tonight, so the clinic will be closed starting at 6:00 PM this evening (Tuesday, July 16).

If your pet is experiencing an emergency during this time, please reach out to the University of Illinois Veterinary Teaching Hospital at (217) 333-5300.

We’re incredibly sorry for the inconvenience. If your pet’s condition is stable and can wait until morning, Highland Pet Hospital will reopen at 8:00 AM tomorrow as usual.
