Today we laid to rest a legend, her name was Colts Miss Ben Bar. She was known to many as Missy and what she achieved in her lifetime was amazing. She ran before the Equistat earnings but based on personal record she was just shy of 90K! Her winning started when she was 4 when I entered my first IPRA RODEO and she won a 3rd place check. Missy was a legend because nothing stopped her, she was diagnosed with navicular in 2004 and went on that year to finish the year with over 30K in earnings. We went into the finals In January of 2005 3rd in the world and she finished 2nd in the world with an additional 7K earnings placing in 3 of 4 go arounds!! She went on to qualify us 5th. in the World for the IPRA in 2005 for finals in 2006!
Missy not only excelled in rodeos but open shows as well! She won rodeos and open shows by as much as 3 tenths to as much as a half second!
I will forever cherish the memories and the wild rides she gave me ! I owe her everything as she taught me to ride and train a champion with heart as big as her life. Rest easy Missy I will always remember you and cherish you! Till we meet again run free in the lush green grass in heaven !!!
