I called your name for the last time this morning.

I fed you a big breakfast topped with extra treats.

I thanked you for teaching me, for making me a better person, and for letting me be there for you all the way to the very end. I am honored.

I chose a better day, a sunny morning where I watched you bask in the sun as it came up.

I fed you your last apple and scratched your neck goodbye. I cut the hairs from your tail and hugged you one last time.

I chose to set you free in the biggest meadow just beyond the big blue sky where you'll run wild and buck around happily.

Briar and I were riding around yesterday. Everytime the dogs were too close in front of her she would stop and wait for them very patiently to move on, this was on her own accord and I love it.

Mustang monday 2
I love how he shoves his face in the halter now 😍
It took a whole year and catching him 2x a day. And yes plenty of times he expressed not wanting to be caught. These days he greets me in the field, shoves his head in his halter, and actually enjoys his time with his human.

Its meant a lot or commitment on my part. Its meant being dedicated to not skipping things even when its cold, or late, or im tired, or sick, or whatever. It meant saying this is a priority and needs to be done. It was believing and knowing it would be worth it.
