We had an interesting case here at BAH yesterday. Can you guess the diagnosis from the x-ray?

Bladder stones (uroliths) can be caused by urinary tract infections, unbalanced diet, chronic dehydration or genetics. Surgery to remove the stones (cystotomy) was successful and the patient should be feeling much better soon! Photo of the stones post surgery in the comments, warning ⚠️ there is some blood because of how irritated the bladder wall was from all those stones.

Prevention is easier on your pets and better for your wallet! For dogs its a monthly treat, most even like the taste. Theres is also an injection we can give that lasts for a whole year 😲 for cats its a monthly topical. No big deal, right?

Heartworm disease starts with a single mosquito bite, but what happens next can be anything but simple.

Prevention is easy to stay on top of. Treatment? Not so much. It can be more complex, more expensive, and requires ongoing veterinary care. 🏥

Helping clients understand that difference can make all the impact when it comes to keeping pets protected year-round. 🌳
