Thank you to all that attended the Celebration of Life for my wife Natalie. The friendship, love and support along with the amount of people in attendance was exactly what was needed and she deserved. Thank you for making it a special day.

Just making sure this post came through. Many have inquired offering assistance for Natalie’s Celebration of Life. If you want to arrive earlier to help get situated that’s fine and if you want to bring a covered dish that’s ok too. I’ve ordered a lot of food trays from Ingles. There will be drinks too but if you have your own preference than bring it. I would suggest a folding chair since all at pavilion are wooden bench tables and a long wooden bench. Meeks does not allow dogs with exception of their dog park so as much as I wish I could reunite with my extended dog family I don’t think it’s allowed. Thanks Mike

Happy Birthday to Natalie
Just a short update on Natalie and try to keep you informed. Friday November 21st we celebrated Natalie’s birthday as her family was visiting. The day also marked the official change of ownership to our kennel. We wish Lisa and Corey and the entire family and crew at Mountain Paws Bunker Hill much continued success. The day went well as Natalie enjoyed her company . The weekend was also good as Natalie dressed in her Ohio State attire and cheered on her beloved Buckeyes to another victory. Presently Hospice visits three times a week and are pleased with her ability to monitor medical needs and her vitals at this time. She has good and bad days as expected but we are taking advantage of our time and actually started preparing for upcoming holidays as our Christmas tree is lit 24 / 7. We do periodically check our messages so I do relay them to her which brings a smile or two. Thank you again for keeping her in your thoughts, Mike.

Natalie’s Update November 5, 2025
Just a quick note to let everyone know that Natalie has had recent visits from family and some close friends. Hospice Care presently is twice a week and has been very helpful. She does manage her pain with medication and takes frequent naps depending on the need and our ever changing routine. I know many have requested to stop over for a visit but unfortunately this is not possible. At any given time depending on her condition, she takes medication for pain relief and to assist her in getting rest. In order to accommodate visitation that would interfere with both pain management and quality of life / care. The last time we had a visit that interfered with that routine she was uncomfortable for days. So at this point this visitation is being closely restricted. We still check messages and I do relay as many as possible even though it’s difficult to individually respond to each one. We are grateful for all the kind words and messages we have received. I will continue to post updates on Natalie and keep everyone as informed as possible. We are getting to spend time together with each other and our pets , two of which lying beside her 24/ 7. Natalie and Kennel Update 10-22-2025

Natalie has had a good week as Hospice comes twice a week and has got her feeling better. They manage her medication and address any health concerns . We have had some family and friends periodically depending upon our schedule and how she’s feeling. We appreciate all the calls and kind words regarding our situation. Now the kennel news, effective this week Mountain Paws has become the new owners of our boarding facility. Lisa and Corey Smith currently own and operate their pet boarding business off Copperhead Road in Blairsville, now they operate out of this location. They recommend downloading their app on your phone from the App Store under Mountain Paws to book a reservation. If you are less internet savvy like me then call them at 678-414-9262. They have our existing client information files and hopefully many will continue to take advantage of the existing venue. It’s sad having to close our business as we already miss all the relationships of clients and critters but it’s also exciting to see Natalie’s Dream live on as we had hoped. Lisa and Corey seem like great folks so we wish them much luck and success on their business and services to our local residents.

Bunker Hill Pet Boarding and Natalie’s Update

As I’ve tried my best to do, I’ll give you the latest on Natalie and the cancer issue. When we started our business in 2017 it was Natalie’s dream come true. Through the years and hard work it’s been a success and the relationships we have gained between the clients and their pets have really consumed our hearts. That is what makes this information so incredibly difficult for me to announce. On Friday Natalie had a procedure done at North Side Hospital. As you recall I had posted last month that her cancer had spread. This procedure was a previously scheduled procedure related to one of her side effects from all the previous treatments. Upon her treatment and examination last Friday it was determined that Natalie will now be placed under Hospice Care effective Monday October 13th. She now requires 24 hr care . As a result of this unexpected turn of events , after our vacation which was scheduled for October 20th, 2025 , Bunker Hill Pet Boarding will now be closed indefinitely. A realtor has been contacted for sale of the business / property. I know to many this is very disappointing information and I understand if you’re not particularly happy with this news however there are options available to you for your boarding needs. We have no other options and I need to be with Natalie and assist in any way possible. We are very sorry for this announcement but it will not be possible to operate our business while providing proper attention to Natalie’s condition. Thank you to everyone for trusting us with your pets care all these years, we will miss everyone. Thank you, Mike .

Natalie’s Pet Scan results and update

Today we received the results of Natalie’s Pet Scan. The news unfortunately wasn’t as encouraging as her previous scan . The board of oncologist’s are set to discuss her case to determine other possible treatment options. She is scheduled next month to start another round of chemotherapy that will be one day a week and take place every two weeks. At the completion of that course of treatment they will conduct another Pet Scan to determine results. The kennel will continue to operate as normal since Natalie’s dream is this business and as long as it continues to operate as normal then she will focus on her health . All your prayers and support are still very much appreciated and we thank everyone for their patience and understanding. This fight continues and we are determined to win.

Natalie and Kennel Updates……
Natalie completed another round of her treatments last week . She has been dealing with the side effects but hanging tough and committed to her eventual return as Queen of the Kennel. This week she has a Cardiologist appointment then on Friday the 19th another Pet Scan. Results will be posted when we get results on the 26th. If it’s anything like the scan in July , we will definitely celebrate as so far these treatments have been finally giving us positive results. As far as the kennel goes, all is well since reopening August 1st , we are getting many new clients , some local residents and some that have relocated. Our 2026 calendar is available so if you’re planning, we can schedule accordingly. Thank you again for all your support and concern for Natalie. Mike
