Sometimes we rescue strays and kittens that have been domesticated that need homes.

The Whiskers Project is a Non-Profit, Trap, Neuter-Return (TNR) program that spays & neuters feral and stray cats in Union and surrounding counties in North Georgia.

Lucky Dog! Whiskers Project was in Hiawassee to capture an abandon cat when they came upon an abandon dog fenced in. Quick thinking lead them to call Castoff Pet Rescue Shelter and Thrift Store Blairsville in Blairsville to help. In a moments notice, the dog was rescud that evening. Unfortunately, we have not been able to find the cat. The owner of these animals moved out of state without having any mercy or care for these loving animals.

Under Georgia Law, it is unlawful to abandon any animal on private property. Violating this Code is punishable with fines and community service. To abandon animals is Cruel and Heartless.

"Happy Home, Happy Cheeto!" One of our first kitten rescues in January is fat and happy with his buddy, Binx. These brothers are a twosome. Happiness is saving a sick kitten in a cat colony, getting them healthy and celebrating a forever Home! "

Every rescue group is scrambling right now for help to foster and bottle feed kittens. Tiny babies are coming in faster than rescues can keep up, and we urgently need more helping hands.

Even fostering short term can save lives.
Alll supplies, training, and support are provided.

We are trying to help find a loving new home for Hei-Hei before his 05/15 deadline. His owner can no longer care for him, and we are hoping someone special will open their heart to this sweet boy.

This stunning seal point Siamese has been left behind and is now in need of a safe, loving home. The current caretaker is moving, and time is running out.
He’s clearly been cared for—just look at those beautiful blue eyes. He deserves stability, warmth, and someone who won’t leave him behind again.
