Training doesn't start with commands. It starts with understanding.

This week we're diving into Training Reimagined — and we want to share what that actually means for us, because it's probably not what you're picturing.

At Blaine Kennels, we are positive-first. Always. We believe the foundation of any great dog-human relationship is trust, clarity, and mutual respect. Before we ever ask a dog to do something, we make sure they feel safe, seen, and connected.

From there, we work in dog psychology — understanding why a dog is behaving a certain way, what they're communicating, and what they actually need from us. That's what leads to real, lasting change.

But here's the part most training programs skip: WE TRAIN YOU TOO. 🐾

Because your dog is with us for a few weeks, but they're with you for life. If the change doesn't transfer home, it doesn't count. We teach owners how to maintain progress, how to communicate clearly with their dog, and how to build a relationship that actually works.

We're Blaine Kennels — a full-service dog boarding, training, and daycare facility on 5 beautiful acres in Blaine, MN. We're not your average kennel. We specialize in dogs that other places turn away: the reactive ones, the anxious ones, the ones that need a little more patience and a lot more structure. Our facility is calm, quiet, and intentional — and we need a team member who gets that.

We're looking for a Kennel Attendant to join our team.

Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, 11am–7pm
Location: 10193 Flanders St NE, Blaine, MN 55449

What you'll be doing:

-Caring for and supervising dogs in our boarding, daycare, and training programs
-Feeding, cleaning, and maintaining a safe, structured environment
-Assisting with enrichment activities — think slat mills, treadmills, agility, scent work
-Monitoring dog behavior and flagging anything that needs attention
-Supporting our training team during board & train programs
-Keeping our facility clean, organized, and running smoothly

What we're looking for:

You don't need a bunch of certifications. You need the right energy.

-You're confident and calm around dogs — including the ones with a little extra going on
-You're a self-starter who doesn't need to be told twice
-You genuinely care about dog behavior and why dogs do what they do
-You're reliable, team-oriented, and take pride in your work
-Experience with animals is a plus — especially dogs
