🐾 Meet the Team Monday! 🐾
In honor of National Veterinary Technician Week, we’re excited to introduce Jessica, or better known as Jess! 💙
Jess has been part of the Companion family for 8 years, starting in reception before moving into veterinary assisting and eventually her current role as a treatment and surgical assistant. Along the way, she discovered a love for companion animal care while continuing to pursue her dream of becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT). Her ultimate goal is to bring her veterinary knowledge to a wildlife sanctuary, preserve, zoo, or aquarium! 🦊🌿
A Virginia Tech wildlife conservation graduate, Jess has a special place in her heart for wildlife, especially foxes, which she calls the equivalent of forest cats! 🦊 At the clinic, cats are her favorite patients, and she’s developed an unexpected passion for feline dental cleanings and X-rays. 🦷🐱
When she’s not at the clinic, Jess enjoys interior design, redecorating her home for every season, and clicker-training her cats. She and her husband share their home with five cats and one snake, and every single one of her pets has a middle name! 😹🐍
Fun fact: Before pursuing a career in veterinary medicine, Jess worked on F-22 fighter jet avionics in the U.S. Air Force! ✈️ From military aviation to animal care, she’s certainly taken an interesting path, and we’re so happy that path brought her to Companion.
