Another belated adoption announcement!
🥳🥳🥳
Daisy was rescued from a high-kill shelter as a pup, finally made it to a foster in VA, then moved to PA to an adopter where we thought she had found her forever. After a year, the family had a crisis and was no longer able to keep her and she was urgently sent to the only place we had available, a boarding/ training facility. After months there (and very expensive) and trying to find a foster or adopter, her perfect person appeared.

We are overjoyed to share that Daisy- the gentle spirited and yet so scared- pup has found the ideal placement with a kindhearted and patient human and fur sibling (also a RADD alumna).

Daisy deserved the very best and that's what she got! Lola and her new human mom, Dana, have welcomed this scared girl into their home and given her the time and space to feel safe. As you can see...it worked! Thank you, Dana and Lola for meeting Daisy where she was and allowing her to thrive. We look forward to many wonderful updates!

We’re in a tight spot with Minnie. 🥺

She was adopted as a puppy, and now, two years later, her adopter wants to return her to RADD. Minnie is known to be protective of her family and needs a strong, confident person to guide her and reinforce good behavior. We’ve been given a deadline by the adopter, but we have nowhere for her to go. The only option left is to board her, which will cost $225 per week, and we can only proceed if we secure funding. The adopter’s deadline is tomorrow, and despite working hard behind the scenes to find her a safe home, we haven’t had any luck.

Minnie is a loving and- 99% of the time- sweet girl. She is an amazing Blue Lacy mix and could be a wonderful companion in the right home. We believe with tasks to do, exercise, and mental engagement (games and such that make her use her brain), she could be phenomenal.

National Dog Day may have been yesterday, but at RADD, every day is Dog Day. 🐾

Every day, our foster families open their homes and hearts. Every day, dogs learn they are safe, loved, and worth choosing. And every day, we keep hoping that the dogs who have been overlooked will finally be seen by the right family.

Today we are are highlighting two amazing dogs who have been overlooked far too long: Ginger and Ladybug. They are both safe in foster homes, but their fosters are hoping they will be chosen soon by loving forever families so that more lives can be saved
They are not “just” waiting dogs, they are someone’s future best friend, couch buddy, adventure partner, and family member. Which reminds us-

A beautiful conclusion to a rescue story...
April 7th a young pup was found with many other dogs abandoned at a home. He had been living in a shed (with Angel and others). One of our members in Texas asked if we could take them on. Of course, we want to always rescue more, but it really comes down to finances. We need to cover vet bills, usually over 1,000 for each dog, often more. And for this pup, we also had to cover boarding.

Back to this sweet dog's story, he moved from an abandoned shed to boarding where he received the vet care he needed, was neutered, microchipped, and received monthly preventatives. One of our steadfast fosters said "Let's get him out of Texas" and so he made his way to Virginia last weekend... We thought this was another step in his rescue journey, it turns out it was his last stop.🥰🥹🤩
Within 24 hours they all seemed to know. Now Duke is with his forever parents, Christina and Stephen, and we couldn't be more excited for this boy!

His pictures show his first night ever sleeping on a bed in a home, and the rest show the pure joy of being rescued and adopted!

Now to one very important message! Lacy/ Ladybug is desperate to start her life! Her foster has been wonderful, but she is at her dog limit and cannot keep Lacy otherwise she would.

Lacy is dog friendly, cat friendly, very people friendly, a wonderful work companion, she loves to nap, and to play! She has been called the poster dog at her training- which her foster invested in to make sure she is super ready for a forever home....and yet, nothing.🥺

Please take a chance on this wonderful girl who we now need to call a diamond in the rough, that is the only reason we can think that she hasn't been adopted. No one has truly seen what a spectacular girl she really is. We are urging you to share this with as many people you know who might be looking for the ideal companion because Lacy is it! We have another tail/tale to tell. This one is about Duke, the furry friend of Nyra/ Angel who was found as an abandoned puppy and was going to be brought to a high-kill shelter. We were alerted that the two pups would be euthanized quickly considered owner surrender. Fortunately, we found support from sponsors to cover some of the boarding. We did not know that it would be 6 months.

Unfortunately, we did not have available fosters to take them in and so they waited, growing up in boarding until one foster became available! We sent Angel and we now know how wonderful that turned out! And today Duke made it to Virginia!! He is with our wonderful foster, Christina and is already settling in, doing fantastic!

Please consider submitting an application for this good boy! We think he has some Border Collie in him :) But whatever he is, he is very loving and a great companion!

Delayed Adoption Announcement and this one feels very special! Why, you ask? Because this sweet girl spent months in boarding while we posted her everywhere. No interest. We moved her to Virginia and posted her, no interest. But sometimes life happens in strange ways. One of our very popular fuzzy puppies had caught the eye of a potential adopter. After a good discussion, we thought maybe they should also meet Angel...and it was love at first sight! However, one more obstacle, would their resident dog also be on board?

We waited anxiously for the meet and greet, which our foster Gabby managed expertly (love our fosters!!!) and success!!! Now we officially introduce Nyra- previously Angel!!!!😍😍😍😍😍

We hope this success story will maybe encourage someone else to take a chance on a dog that doesn't shine quite as bright in their posts. Below is Nyra with her wonderful new fur sibling. But we will post Duke shortly who had been found with Angel many months ago abandoned and at risk of euthanasia. We hope his story is also as inspiring as Nyra/ Angel's has been. Maybe you will be that person who makes Duke's dreams come true!

💔 We have some hard news to share

We are facing a critical low in available funds and intakes must remain closed until we can raise enough to be able to responsibly care for the needs of our precious RADD dogs.
The past few weeks have been really tough for our team and for the sweet souls we care for until their forever families are found.

First- Parvo hit, and the litter of 10 puppies a local shelter asked us for help with needed life saving treatment. This emergency alone cost us over 4k. Thank goodness we had 8 survivors, however that means we also have the bill for mom and pups to spay.

We have had returns due to circumstances beyond the dog’s control, divorce, loss, illness. Resulting in boarding costs for these babies while new homes are searched for (please help us find homes for our current dogs needing to get out of boarding!)
Boarding costs us $280/week/dog so this adds up incredibly fast when we have 4 there ($960/week).

Mr friendly has his appointment to see if his HW is cleared coming up and his sponsor is unable to cover it due to a debilitating car accident ($120)

Floyd needs a working dog assessment from the local k9 training facility ($150)

Dr. Pepper is learning how to be a part of a family however the transition has caused potty accidents and we need to support his foster with supplies.

Nicholas needs to see a specialist for his ears

All this to say- we need our community’s HELP in order to open our doors back up and continue rescuing animals in need. We need over $5,000 in order to cover our CURRENT bills. What the future holds for our rescue will depend on the support we receive from our communities. Please help us catch up and continue helping these precious pups.

Urgent rehome needed‼️

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Time has finally come to a close for Max, a sweet senior boy who will have nowhere to live within the next week. Max is a sweet boy who loves the companionship of people. Before his rescue, he was neglected and in horrible shape. He has overcome so many challenges including heartworm. He never knew what family was like until his new family welcomed him in. Unforeseen circumstances mean Max has to find a new home immediately.

Max would do well with small to medium sized dogs

Please share far and wide, this Old boy needs a soft place to land and his time has run out in his current home.

‼️CLARIFICATION‼️ Our dogs will NEVER be returned to a kill shelter, or any shelter for that matter. Max has been posted before to look for a new home. This post is to find him another home due to unexpected unforeseen personal circumstances where he currently lives, and the deadline is closing in.
