Starter Series Video 4 🎥
Part 2

Here is what the beginning of the first on stock training session looks like for Zero!
My whole goal here is to just interfere a little bit and get him on the outside of the sheep, doing what we call “flowing.” I want him to be going around the outside of the sheep and thinking as he works instead of just running head long at them.
He did pretty dang good and I’m happy with him and how he’s coming along!

Starter Series Video 4 🎥

Part 1!
This video is the immediate prep we do for a dog’s first training session on stock. There are a couple things we want to do before we let them go to stock to make the training go more smoothly.
1. The dog waits at the gate.
2. The dog stays with me in the pen.
3. Introduce the rake to the dog.

By doing these 3 things we are better preparing our dogs to retain what they learn in their training sessions. We are also not surprising them by adding the rake into the equation which we use as an extension of our arm.
