Another evening pet sitting visit in the books! 🐾🌅

Tonight included:
🐕 A potty break and some outdoor time
🎾 Playtime and tail wags
🐱 Cat check-in, fresh food, and cuddles
🌼 Watering the gardens and keeping an eye on the home
🥣 Dinner and fresh water for everyone

One of my favorite parts of pet sitting is keeping pets comfortable in their own home while their families are away. Familiar routines, familiar surroundings, and plenty of attention make all the difference. 💚

🎶Fun fact: Your pet might have a better music playlist than you do🐾

I found some really neat research about pets and music that I just had to share. It turns out that playing the right background music can actually lower a pet's heart rate and help them relax when they're home alone.

Here is what the experts found:

🐶 The Dogs: Researchers at the University of Glasgow and the Scottish SPCA [1] played different music for dogs and actually tracked their heart rates. They discovered that dogs chill out the most to Soft Rock and Reggae! Turning on artists like Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, James Taylor, Jack Johnson, Norah Jones, Jimmy Cliff, UB40, Stick Figure, or T***s and the Maytals is perfect for keeping pups calm, happy, and ready for a nap.

🐱 The Cats: Scientists at the University of Wisconsin discovered that cats don't care much for human pop music. Instead, they prefer Classical and Soft Instrumental music that matches the frequency of a purr. Putting on classics like Mozart or Bach, or peaceful piano music by Ludovico Einaudi and Yiruma acts like an instant spa day for them.

The next time you leave the house, try leaving one of these artists playing in the background to keep your fur babies company!

❤️ Making sure your pets are happy and completely relaxed is my favorite part of this job. Whether that means finding the perfect soothing playlist or just giving them extra cuddles on the couch, they are always safe, loved, and listening to great tunes with me.

Do you offer boarding or care in your home?
No—I provide care exclusively in your pet’s home. Staying in a familiar environment helps reduce stress and allows pets to remain in their normal routine.

How often are visits scheduled?
Care is typically provided through two visits per day—one in the morning and one in the evening. This structure allows for consistent, dependable care.

Is that enough for every pet?
Not always. Some pets need more frequent attention. During the meet-and-greet, we’ll talk through your pet’s needs to make sure this schedule is a comfortable and appropriate fit.

What happens during a visit?
Each visit is centered around your pet’s routine and may include feeding, fresh water, walks or exercise, litter or yard care, and time for companionship. I also take note of behavior, appetite, and overall condition.

Do you walk dogs?
Yes—walks can be included as part of a visit, depending on your dog’s routine and comfort.

Do you provide off-leash exercise?
For safety, dogs are kept on leash or within securely enclosed areas.

Can you administer medications?
Yes, when clear instructions are provided. I follow your directions carefully to maintain consistency.

What happens in case of an emergency?
If a concern arises, I will contact you right away. If immediate care is needed, I will seek veterinary attention based on your preferences and emergency information provided.

Will I receive updates?
Yes. You’ll receive an update after each visit, along with photos when possible, so you can feel confident your pet is doing well.

What experience do you bring to your work?
My background includes mobile dog grooming and positive reinforcement-based training, which supports calm handling, consistency, and attentive care.

How long are visits?
Visits range from 30 to 90 minutes, depending on your pet’s needs.
