All of our potential fosters, volunteers or adopters go through an application process. This process is to ensure that our animals are being placed and cared for in the most appropriate homes. We truly care about each and every animal that comes through our doors, and want to give each and every animal a wonderful home or foster.

Meet Roxy!

Roxy is a 4-year-old Shar-Pei mix with a heart full of love and a sweet and bubbly personality! She loves soaking up attention from everyone, enjoys going for walks, and is overall a very happy girl.

Roxy came to us from a hoarding case in McNeal, where she was one of 37 dogs. We don’t know much about what her daily life looked like before coming to the shelter. But, whatever her past may have held, it certainly hasn’t stopped her from showing us what a wonderful pup she is. She’s affectionate, cheerful, and ready to enjoy all the good things life has to offer!

Roxy doesn’t appear to be cat-friendly, but she seems unbothered by other dogs. With her never-ending love, she’d make a wonderful companion for someone looking to add a little extra happiness to their life.

After everything she’s been through, Roxy deserves a home where she can be cherished, spoiled, and reminded every day how special she is. She's already spayed, up to date on her vaccines, and microchipped!

🐾 Meet Rex – The Bashful Little Polydactyl!

Rex is a 15-week-old domestic shorthair with a sweet soul, a shy little demeanor, and a few extra toes that make him all the more special! This handsome boy came to us alongside several other sickly, undersocialized cats, and he had quite a rough start. When Rex first arrived, he was battling an upper respiratory infection and a possible lung infection. After weeks of medication, care, and recovery, we're happy to say this little guy is looking SO much better!

Rex may be a bit bashful when meeting new people, but don't let that fool you! Once he warms up and feels safe, his confidence starts to shine, and suddenly the big world doesn't seem so scary anymore. He's proof that sometimes the sweetest personalities just need a little extra time to bloom.

This extra-toed cutie is still finishing up his medical journey, with one more veterinary recheck, his rabies vaccine, neuter, and microchip still ahead of him. In the meantime, Rex is available through our Foster-to-Adopt program, giving him the chance to continue recovering and growing in a loving home while he completes his remaining care.

Rex is looking for someone willing to be patient while he settles in, celebrate his little victories, and discover just how much personality is hiding behind that shy face. Give this special boy a chance, and you might just find that his extra toes come with an extra-large helping of love!

Meet Von!

Von is an approximately 6-year-old gentleman who recently came to us after being removed from an animal hoarding situation in McNeal. While we're unsure how much human interaction Von received before coming to us, one thing is certain: this boy has plenty of love to give!

Despite his difficult circumstances, Von is incredibly sweet and social. He absolutely loves being petted and will happily greet you with the cutest little headbutts. When he's not soaking up affection, you can often find him gazing out the window, taking in the sights and keeping an eye on the world around him.

Von came in alongside another cat who is a little more timid, but the two seem to get along well, so we believe Von may do well with other feline friends. He wasn't housed in the same area as the dogs from the hoarding situation, so we're still unsure how he would feel about canine companions.

This handsome gentleman could stand to lose a little extra padding, but hey, there's just more of him to love! Von seems ready to embrace whatever life has in store for him, and we can't wait to see him find a home where he can enjoy all the affection, comfort, and window-watching his heart desires.

Von is neutered and microchipped, and he's currently awaiting a veterinary appointment to update his vaccines and assess his overall health.

Meet Jewel!

Jewel is an approximately 6–7-year-old Shepherd mix who has already overcome so much, and she's just getting started on her next chapter!

Jewel originally came to us as a stray, severely underweight and very nervous around people. We suspect she may not have been treated kindly in her previous home, but despite whatever hardships she's faced, this girl has an absolutely beautiful personality. During her time here at the shelter, Jewel has slowly been learning that people can be kind, her confidence has been growing, and she's been steadily gaining some much-needed weight!

Jewel is also missing one of her eyes, but don't let that fool you, it certainly hasn't slowed her down! Every day, this brave girl comes a little further out of her shell and shows us more of the wonderful dog she's always been. She LOVES treats, walks beautifully on a leash, and is getting better and better at riding in the car. She's also done well with other friendly dogs here at the shelter, although a meet-and-greet will be required for any home with resident dogs.

Jewel still has a little healing and growing to do before she's ready to head home. Once she's gained enough weight, she'll be spayed and ready to begin her next adventure!

We know that with a little patience, plenty of love, and a family willing to give her the time she needs to settle in, Jewel is going to make an incredible companion. She's already shown us just how resilient and sweet she can be, and we can't wait for the day she gets to experience life as a cherished family member.

Meet Winona!

Winona is an approximately 6-year-old Shepherd mix with a sweet personality and plenty of love to give! This friendly girl has already mastered some of the finer things in life, including leisurely leash walks, smooth car rides, and snuggling up with a nice stuffed toy. Honestly, she sounds like a pretty great travel companion!

Winona appears to be mostly house-trained based on her cleanliness in her kennel here at the shelter. She walks very well on a leash, and rides beautifully in the car! She's done okay with other dogs here at the shelter, but any home with resident dogs will need a more in-depth meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is a good fit.

This clever girl can be a bit of an escape artist, so she'll need a home with a nice, secure yard to help keep her safe while she explores her new world.

Winona has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, and she's ready to trade shelter life for a cozy couch, a collection of stuffed toys, and a family to call her own. Could Winona be the missing piece of your family?

Meet Lotus!

Lotus is a beautiful 10-week-old grey tabby with a personality as lovely as her name! This little girl came to us from Douglas with her mom, Maisie, and brothers, and from the moment she arrived, Lotus made it very clear that she is a people-loving kitten. She was sweet as can be right from the start and absolutely adored being pet.

These days, Lotus is ready to trade shelter life for a home where she can show off her playful, sociable personality to the fullest. She has plenty of kitten energy and loves to play, explore, and soak up as much attention as you're willing to give. Basically, if there's a lap, a toy, or a person ready to adore her, Lotus would like to know about it!

Lotus is cat-friendly and would do well with a feline friend. She's also young enough to be slowly and appropriately introduced to a friendly dog in the home.

Lotus is currently available through our Foster to Adopt Program, and she's looking for a family who can keep up with her energy, give her plenty of playtime, and appreciate all the personality packed into this tiny tabby.
